Big shout out to Noel in the boot shop. After the work he did with the custom inserts it was a completely different ski trip!
Noel has a wealth of knowledge and an amazing passion for his job.
Skied with the family 2 youths 3 adults on New Years eve and New Years day. Snow levels were awsome but chairs are VERY SLOW. Hawk chair express??? Stopped every few minutes. 5 times on one trip up the Hill!!! Also not much fanfair for new years. Could have given out glow Sticks or had lights on the hill ...did have fireworks At 9 pm but didn't stay. Only a few runs open for night skiing...
MWAR has probably the best teaching terrain for beginners young and old anywhere. The training area is next to the day lodge so parents can view their kids in class. You can walk to your lesson without having to ride any lifts. The magic carpet, 5 of them, are covered so they don't get slippery when it rains.
The diversity of terrain is pretty decent. Lift tickets are getting pretty pricey for the size of the resort, but there are options for discounted tickets. There are plenty of ski-in/ski-out accommodations, which makes the long drive up from Victoria much more reasonable.
