Today we rolled out a completely revamped MMS built atop Automation, our cloud service for deploying and running MongoDB. Automation works with any infrastructure, from AWS to private cloud to bare metal. It deploys brand new replica sets, adds new shards to clusters, adds replica set members, deploys version upgrades… all at the push of a button. Try out the new MMS today!
“MongoDB is as easy to operate at scale as it is to develop with.” From the very beginning of MongoDB, I’ve envisioned making that bold claim. Until …

Today we introduced major enhancements to MongoDB Management Service (MMS) that makes it significantly easier to run MongoDB. MMS is now centered around the experience of deploying and managing MongoDB on the infrastructure of your choice. You can now deploy a cluster through MMS and then monitor your deployment. You can also optionally back up your MongoDB deployment directly to MongoDB, Inc. Once deployed, you can upgrade or scale a cluster in just a few clicks.

Learn more about the new MMS on the MongoDB Blog http://blog.mongodb.org/post/99991498968/mongodb-management-service-re-imagined-the-easiest-way

Or go to mms.mongodb.com to try it out!
We consistently hear that getting started with MongoDB is easy, but scaling to large configurations that include replication and sharding can be challenging. With MMS, it is now much easier. Today we...

MongoDB 2.6.5 is out and is ready for production deployment. This release contains only fixes since 2.6.4, and is a recommended upgrade for all 2.6 users.

Fixed in this release:
SERVER-15029   $rename modifier uses incorrect dotted source path
SERVER-15111   partially written journal last section causes recovery to fail
SERVER-15369   explicitly zero .ns files on creation
SERVER-14961   Plan ranker favors intersection plans if predicate generates empty range index scan
SERVER-10642   Generate Community and Enterprise packages for SUSE 11
