Many see waste as an unavoidable cost for an organisation, we think of it as a resource; an opportunity to save money as well as our planet.

We extract the value of all redundant materials, instead of relinquishing it to waste contractors: sharing the gains so that waste reduction and changes in behaviour are incentivised.

For more information on our resource, not waste programme, visit www.mitie.com/waste

Typically our industry thinks of integrated facilities management as putting together services in ways that maximise efficiency, service and value for our clients but more importantly it’s about integrating with our client - their business goals and the way we serve their people and their clients.

We need to be seen in an advisory role – guiding people to new solutions in document management as trends move and change and our clients with them.

Our clients want to know that we fit in with their structure so everything we do has to demonstrate value and understanding; we need to know keeps them up at night and how we can add real value to their working lives.

Relationships help us understand our clients’ needs. Innovation is directly fed by client needs and bringing it all together gives Mitie a point of reference – the “why” we do things.

Technical facilities management is all about understanding our clients’ complex needs and meeting them. That means being creative with our processes and systems and raising the bar on new ways of working.

Security now goes much further than the obvious – the man on the door. Threats embody the physical, the cyber, the planned and the spontaneous. Our role is to understand, advise, guide and integrate systems and attitudes to reduce risk in a world of heightened security need.

What do we want workplace catering to be? How about desirable? We want people to love it, love the experience of it and for them to want to keep coming back for more! Doing that we help our clients offer a better working environment that keeps people motivated - and happy staff are productive staff.
