Instead of registering for typical wedding gifts, Kaushal and Prachi asked their friends and family to help them fund some deserving students on Milaap who came from low income families.

The couple ended up raising $1200 on their wedding day and helped students enrol in a vocational training course. The students they've supported are employed and today are leading a better life.

You can pledge your special day here: http://campaigns.milaap.org/pledge/ and experience the joy of bringing a positive change to someone's life.   #Wedding   #weddingregistry

Mageshwari from Kanthikuppam village used her Milaap loan to purchase more raw materials for her cloth weaving business. She now empowers eight other women in her village to assist her in the work. Besides that she is educating her daughter and paying her school fees with the income she generates.

Support enterprising women like Mageshwari in Tamil Nadu and create a story of change on Milaap:

Excellent self confidence.  The greatness is, the growth is not selfish, helping others to grow together.  Let God bless this quality of Mageshwari to infect others also.

This group of enthusiastic bakers combined their love for #baking and desire to make a difference on Milaap.

The Bake Collective holds a bake sale, picks a project from Milaap and the proceeds go towards a group of borrowers in need.

If you want to do something similar or pledge your special day like #Birthday, #Wedding or #Marathon, visit: http://campaigns.milaap.org/pledge/

Join us in congratulating Karan Khinchi and Sophia Zhao. The couple got married today and to make this day all the more special, they requested all their guests not to bring any gifts but rather empower families with solar lighting.

They started their own fundraiser on Milaap and so far they've raised close to $2000.

To be a part of their wedding celebration, visit: http://fundraiser.milaap.org/campaigns/WeddingForACause

Loan a little. Change a lot.
Introduction
Milaap is the first micro-lending platform that enables anyone in the world to lend to India’s working poor.

Mission

To catalyze the next generation of microfinance through online microlending and fulfill varied unmet needs of the poor that go beyond just credit. We envision a world where the poor are valued as dignified consumers, suppliers, and producers as opposed to mere borrowers.

Company Overview

Founded by a team of young social entrepreneurs, Milaap's office is based in Bangalore.

Milaap combines the internet and human intent to create sustainable social change. Through our online platform www.milaap.org, anyone from any part of the world can now lend as little as Rs 1000 or USD 50 to India’s working poor, enabling them the means to lead an improved standard of living. The process is simple. Choose a borrower. Make a loan. Get repaid. Recycle.

At Milaap, we believe that a small loan can lead to empowered communities, healthier society and educated household. Hence our slogan- Loan A Little. Change A Lot.
