Do you find yourself worrying about whether or not your child is keeping up with other kids his age?

I know what it’s like to worry about this sort of thing. In our early days of homeschooling, I worried about it constantly. I would even go to the county public school website to see what my child should be learning at his or her grade level.📚

Twenty-two years into this homeschool gig, I shake my head at how needless my old concerns were.

I've been working at home for a long time.

To be exact, I've been working at home since 2004, whether I was running my cleaning business, working for an employer, or doing what I do now - blogging and working as a social media manager.

No matter what work at home position I've held, there are a few things I've needed for all of them. These are my 10 must-haves for any work at home mom.

"What about socialization?"

The question makes many homeschool moms cringe. It is the most worn-out argument/question ever posed to members of the homeschool community and here I am bringing it up again.

I'm bringing it up because I want to clarify the difference between socializing (what people really mean) and socialization (what they say).

I've been fortunate enough to live in a state where none of these arbitrary requirements are forced upon my family.

However, I now face the decision of moving to another state, but I am very picky about which states I will go to because I will not subject my child to standardized test for these very reasons and more.
It's about manipulation and control - not education.
