Great read from the "other side".

I think if you have to apologies at the start of an article with "First off, this is not a rant against media agencies or against communications planners" then it probably is a rant.

It was a rant, a nice one.

Industry needs clarity; is "mobile", mobiles and tablets or mobiles-only. I think laptops and tablets should be under "desktop".

Google's going to offer photographic tours using your geo-tagged photography. The idea is that when you take a picture, you don't present the full view of the target. This crowd sources others pictures to then generate a tour. Exploring the world's wonders should become easier.

"Let us hope agencies and brands suddenly get better at demanding fully disclosed posts" via +Andrew Girdwood
Two years ago Rory Cellan-Jones, the BBC’s respected technology correspondent, was causing a stir in the digital marketing community by exposing the murky waters of fake Facebook likes. Agencies and brands watched the news with concern and scanned the ...

Google's stopped emboldening keywords you searched for in snippets. When did this happen or is it a test? #ctr

Semantic flux! Where's Karl Pilkington when you need him #bs
In a recent post, I talked about why internal links and hub pages are a vital factor for SEO, as this helps avoid the problem of pages on the same site 'cannibalising' each other's search rankings.

Rarely hear some of these. "Snackable" is outrageous.  Plan to continue using "actionable" - can't think of a replacement that's less bs

Really smart hotel. Location is great, rooms are stylish and the restaurant is tasty. Staff at front desk were nice too!

Cracking burger joint. Often busy, but the wait is well worth it.

Excellent stay. Sea views are great. Not far from airport. You can hear the traffic during rush hour, but Nice is a city - so you expect that. Rooftop pool and bar are a major bonus.

Large, boutique styled rooms filled with charm. Stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed every minute. Excellent location in Chelsea, away from all the tourist traps; a hotel for a more experienced Manhattan go-er. Restaurants nearby are great, and the Meatpacking offers a great party night of booze and debauchery. Only downfalls; construction on the building across the road (noisey, but temporary); lobby is a coffee shop, which is excellent but I want a bar to relax in (drinks are provided, but it's not the same). Would stay again.
