When does the normal habit turn into a problem? Our sex professor answers: http://spr.ly/6267ByExF
What’s your number? Whether you masturbate twice a week or twice a day, you probably have a set figure in your head when it comes to your favorite pastime. Match or exceed that mark, and you start wondering whether you’re doing it too much. Here’s the good news: There’s no magic number when it comes to a healthy masturbation habit, says Dan Drake, a certified sex addiction therapist and clinical counselor. “However often you masturbate, it’s not ...

Should you roll before or after a workout? http://spr.ly/6260ByEam
You’ve probably been told to foam roll right before your workout because the process preps your body by increasing muscle activation and blood flow. (In fact, you may have read that on this site.) And while that’s true, a pre-workout rolling session may actually hinder your workout more than help it, says Kelly Starrett,  P.T., author of Becoming a Supple Leopard and founder of the popular site MobilityWOD.com.

No gym? No problem!
Step into Ben Bergeron’s gym in Natick, Massachusetts, and you’ll use barbells, dumbbells, and your own body weight during a workout. But don’t be surprised if you also sweat with yokes, ropes, sleds, tires, monkey bars, peg boards, sandbags, sledgehammers, stones, and logs. Bergeron calls it “odd object conditioning.” And there’s good reason for hauling a log for distance or hanging from monkey bars.

Turn your plank into 10 seconds of hell:
Planks are tough, but you probably wouldn’t call them nightmarish. Until now.  This version of the exercise comes from Dean Somerset, C.S.C.S., an exercise physiologist in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. In just 10 seconds, your abs will feel as if they’re dancing with the devil. (Want nightmarish workouts? Then check out these 3 Single-Movement Mind F*ucks from the world’s most badass gym.)

7 questions you shouldn’t ask—and how to rephrase them:
Sometimes, talking to a woman can be a bit like walking through a minefield. Blindfolded. With snowshoes on. “Women are generally more sensitive and emotional than men, which means they can be more reactive,” says psychotherapist and relationship expert Nicole McCance. “They don’t always take questions at face value and can read into them, asking themselves, ‘What did he really mean by that?’”

Find the workout that’s right for your strength and size: http://spr.ly/6266ByEIp
Spend enough time on the Internet, and you’ll come across two strains of fitness information. There’s the hardass wing, where trainers claim, with militant certainty, that anybody can do anything. Deadlift double your body weight? Squat butt-to-calves? Bench press with two wheels on each side? You just have to want it bad enough. Guys who follow advice like this discover a fundamental truth sooner or later: While the brain gets a vote, the body r...

The days of frequent brain farts may be closer than you think: If you’re over the ripe old age of 18, some of your cognitive skills have already headed south, according to new findings from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. But not all of your brain is in a free fall. What to eat (and cook) all week: http://mhlthm.ag/NBo7ts
Follow this 7-day schedule of pre-planned meals and workouts. Repeat it each week for 3 weeks. Click on the links below to be taken directly to the recipe or routine. (Want more details? Check out How the Cook and Chisel Program Works.)For the meal plan, you can swap in any of the recipes you like best. But you’ll just want to make sure you’re trading a high-carb meal for another high-carb meal, and a low-carb meal for another low-carb meal.

Is the expensive stuff really worth it? http://mhlthm.ag/BZzxlg
You’re in the liquor store, looking to buy a few bottles of hard alcohol for a party. Maybe some rum or tequila, and definitely some vodka. But the choices seem limitless, and the prices range from affordable to “Are you kidding me with this?” Is the expensive stuff worth it? Whether you want to enjoy a few rum and Cokes with your friends, or sip on margaritas as you enjoy the final weekends of summer, does it matter if you pay $10 a bottle or $1...

How to make your Monday suck less:
Have you given any thought to how much getting there is in thanks giving? “Thanks” is what you say when the Starbucks clerk hands your venti-latte-extra-whipped-cream through the drive-up window. But the thanks I’m talking about is the kind that’s much more intentional than automatic. It’s an act of appreciation, filled with meaning and sincerity. That’s the kind of gratitude that pays back in spades, according to research by Martin Seligman, Ph...
