What if a pipe were so amazingly tiny that only a few atoms of superfluid helium could squeeze through its opening at once?  According to a longstanding quantum-mechanics model, the superfluid helium would behave differently from a normal liquid: far from speeding up -- like a river flowing through narrow rapids -- it would actually slow down.  Now, a team of McGill University researchers, with collaborators at the University of Vermont and at Leipzig University in Germany, has succeeded in conducting experiments with the smallest channel yet – less than 30 atoms wide. So does the theory stand?

Glad to hear it, because I do not like family very much, and admit that too much family gives me a headache.
Too many friends robs me of time to think and meditate on what I find important.
I cannot change what I do not like, and hopefully what I like, solitude, will not cause me to die early.

Urban sprawl is about how connected your streets are
The urban street network is one of the most permanent features of cities. Once laid down, the pattern of streets determines urban form and the level of sprawl for decades to come. In the U.S., urban sprawl has become an enduring hallmark of the past century. Yet, there are some glimmers of hope.

“For more than a decade now, research has demonstrated that action video game players display more efficient visual attention abilities, and our current study has once again confirmed this notion,” says Dr. Gregory West.
However, they are also much more likely to use navigation strategies that rely on the brain’s reward system and not the brain’s spatial memory system (the hippocampus). And this could be bad news. Here's why : http://www.mcgill.ca/newsroom/channels/news/impact-video-gaming-brain-252136
