Dungeonmorph Dice spotted in the wild! +Inkwell Ideas

Here are my tips for running 4 hour one-shot or con games with D&D 5e:
-- Have a clear quest or goal so the character know exactly what their mission is, with the mission something achievable in 4 hours.
-- Have 12-20 rooms prepared (if it's a Dungeon). Usually you'll only cover 7 to 12 rooms total.
-- Of the 7 to 12 rooms you'll actually explore, 5 to 7 'scenes' will have roleplaying and combat, and the rest will be empty or have puzzles, traps or something to explore.
-- Throw in a combat by the 1.5 hour mark if you haven't already had one.
-- Be prepared to move rooms around in the dungeon so they will always happen to get to the key parts of the dungeon (especially the Big Bad Boss at the end). Usually I just have 2 or 3 'key scenes' which -- I will make sure they hit, with the rest being optional. This means you don't give the players a map as you may change the map on the fly.

A couple of maps you will see in +Inkwell Ideas's latest Kickstarter. It has funded but there are just a little over 7 hours left for you to get in and be a backer.

Check out the new monster art. Awesome!

And I may have more than a couple maps in these decks. ;-)

UPDATED and four times better! Tested by the FDA!
My buddy +Joe Wetzel has an unhealthy love of Geomorphs. Back around 2009 he helped fuel a love of geormorphs that spread like wildfire among most of the mappers on Google+ at the time and now he is back with another idea, th...

Check this out. I love FAE and I have read this book as well. He points out the author likes Fate and stated his characters in the novel using the system.... very cool! Sounds like I will be checking out their podcast in the future.

+Bryan Meadows maybe you should try something like this with your kids.
Oh, Fate Accelerated, how I love you! You are a fantastic system for grown-up roleplaying — especially for the lazy/busy GM with no time to prepare. I can roll into a session with a few themes knoc...

Tiny + morphs = Tinymorphs
I am working on maps for Inkwell Ideas's latest Kickstarter and in doing so I made some geomorphs that did not quite pass muster. I doubled the number to make a good number, and hopefully make them more useful, and decided to...

Getting closer but not quite there yet. If you like my maps I will have several pieces on the cards in this Kickstarter project.

James talks about WB, and then he throws this out, like an after thought:

It is a stand-alone product which uses the Swords & Wizardry WhiteBox rules to tell fast and loose sci-fi stories in the style of Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Star Wars and the original Battlestar Galactica

Yeah, you got my attention.

Another map completed for +Inkwell Ideas's latest Kickstarter project. If you dig maps like this you should check it out. Just a little over 50% funded today with ten days to go. I think about a third of the maps in this deck will be mine.

Another review for a great rule system. Though I have only ran a short campaign for P&P, this is one of my favorite game to run.

An enjoyable read and on my to-play list. Simple & straight-forward, this isn't an OSR clone.

BBQ is good, ok on price but be aware that there is no seating. Sauces are good but their idea of hot leaves me wondering if they ever had hot sauce anywhere else. Slaw is ok but bland, beans are very smokey in flavor. Cash or check only, no credit or debit card.

Visited this place in Jan 2015. It appears to be a quaint cafe style restaurant with some flair for micro-brewery beers. They have a good number on tap and have a very good selection of beers available. The food is different, I say that because the menu was strange to me. It wants to be a micro-beer pub but at the same time have a hipster menu to draw in the upper crust. The food was good but nothing spectacular with a focus on unique burgers. My family of four ate there and it was $71 before the tip. Not exactly a cafe priced place though the portions were more than enough. Their BBQ pulled pork was excellent. You could probably share a meal if you wanted. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We went on a Saturday evening and did not wait for a seat though it was very busy. I think if they focused more on traditional pub style food with perhaps some local favorites, lowered their prices slightly and focused more on the micro-brews, they could probably become a staple of the Clarksville downtown.

Nothing to special about this place, OK burritos, a little expensive $30 for for of us to eat. I would just have eaten at a Chipotles.
