First video in the Ongoing History of RPGs! Had a lot of fun making this one, mostly because it got me back in the "research, parse, create" mood, which was woefully lacking in the last little while.

I'll be starting a live playthrough of Dragon Warrior for the NES tonight at 6PM EST: you can check out my Twitch channel at http://twitch.tv/mattdemers

Part of how I'm planning to improve at Dota is by implementing solid goals; here's a list of heroes I made in the support role that I'm going to look to play more, and justifications for why they're there.

Certain sites and channels have struck gold with making their audiences fall in love with the people presenting content, rather than the subject matter itself. Here I write a little about what risks those kind of operations take, and how it can be hard to just start with that intention.

I wrote a small guide about using automation to make posting new content to +DiscordApp easy. Sometimes when I publish new things I forget about all the places I need to post them to let my followers know that they're there. This makes the process easier, at least for one place.

Sometimes I'll talk to esports players, other journalists or people who want to grow their social media following; they won't know where to start or how to expose themselves to new audiences. My usual advice is to "create value." I've explained it a bit better here.

I ended up skipping going to the Toronto Tea Festival this year for a couple reasons, so I thought I'd write about my apathy towards the event. Also ended up talking about how I choose to approach this hobby, mostly because I feel like I'm complicating it too much.

Wrote a new blog post on water, why you want to make sure you have neutral water for your tea, and how to clean your kettle if you haven't in a while.

Wrote something about how important it is to develop your own palate of tastes, and why you should probably taste a tea before you read how it's "supposed to taste" according to the package.

Wrote a thing about Hunan Black Congou, which is dried, rolled and re-fired in a way that leaves the tea crisp, rigid and sweet-smelling. What's the difference between your own personal tastes and what the tea says on the package? To be honest, it's not much of anything.

I wrote something about the concept of tea elitism/snobbery and how turning up your nose at entry level brands can be kind of crappy. I'm hoping to keep a degree of elitism out of my tea consumption/content, but it can be kind of hard not to bristle at sales strategies sometimes.

You can find my tea stuff over at +Chill With Tea, but I'm going to keep posting it here.
