I like the video. But I didn't like the statement at the end: "I made this when I was*ONLY* 16!" It's cloying and manipulative in its desire for admiration and "..look at me!! I'm young!" Let us admire what we want to.. without telling us to do so, but given that the piece is good filmmaking, but more powerful due to the writing,  written and performed by Adriel Luis, it's at least 50% collaborative and should be credited as such in the video itself. Where are the credits? Only in text under the "more" button.. which makes them fairly hidden. The story and expression in the poem is good, for 16y olds.. but it's ham-fisted in it's lack of subtlety. Grow up a little and the obvious concepts won't be so compelling. Ultimately its cute.. and worth watching once.. but not really more than that. Would love to see the filmmaker surface more of the subtle pain of youth, growing up, etc. and focus less on herself as "amazing, WOW !"

Cell phone privacy:  non-existant.
NEW YORK (AP) — Many U.S. cellphone users say they have decided not to use an app on their phone because of concerns about privacy.

WARNING: Big Change at EBAY: Sellers who misrepresent will be backed up by Ebay. Today I had an unfortunate experience with EBAY, where I regularly purchase a lot of items for myself as well as others...

Stewards of the Personal Data Ecosystem?

"I wanted to show how the orgs are relating to the problem of how to remake our digital lives, through more user-driven personal data, for more equal transactions throughout our lives with companies, the online world, and our government. The orgs have been divided into four areas: technical, market, policy and individual advocates."

General Discussion  -

I want to talk with a couple of developers of CyanogenMod who might be interested in working on a Privacy Phone. I'm working on getting funding and only expect to pay for work, etc. I'm working with Customer Commons, a non-profit putting the user first, that came out of Harvard's Berkman Center's Project VRM.

Just want to discuss project to see if you would be interested in helping. NOTE: despite non-profit, the project will pay good market rates and have budgeted for that.

I want this to be very good for you and us and the people whose privacy is protected.

Pls email me off list. hodder @ gmail... Thanks,  Mary

Even RealAge is now getting into the deal space.. got my first offer today..joining GroupOn, Yelp, LivingSocial, CityPages, Gilt, RueLaLa (outside of clothing for the last two)... What was GroupOn thinking when they turned down $5b from Goog. The landscape gets more and more diffuse for deals.. there is no way GroupOn can aggregate the deals market as if they were Amazon or something. I am even more astonished now than a few months ago that GroupOn didn't take the money. They are basically in the entertainment / restaurant / bar business and they are acting like they have some kind of regulatory lock on things.. like a patent or copyright or whatever. They don't. They are dance club.. and people roam from one to the next. Someone offers you $5b for your dance club.. you take it.

Lovely folks run the place! Open til 7pm and their tamales.. red porc, just terrific. Great beans, guac, etc. The only downfall is no beer.. as after a long day of flying and turbulence in the southwest, that would have been nice. Also very helpful with town info / shuttles there, etc.

Fpr breakfast, excellent freshly made breakfast burrito.. with a packet of jalapeno sauce on the side was just perfect. But their mochas.. no bitterness as they roast their own coffee and probably clean their machines carefully to get old oils out. Super!
