We were disappointed to lose against West Brom on Saturday, but heartened by the way United fans rallied around ex-defender Rio Ferdinand after his wife, Rebecca, sadly passed away on Friday night.
Chants of "Rio!" rang around Old Trafford before kick-off, while fans stood and applauded in the fifth minute to show support for the Ferdinand family.
Manchester United lost 1-0 to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, despite dominating the game.
Chris Brunt's second-half free-kick deflected off Jonas Olsson to stun Old Trafford and Robin van Persie passed up a golden opportunity to equalise when his penalty was saved by Boaz Myhill.
In fairness, the goalkeeper saved well and was magnificent throughout, repelling wave after wave of Reds advances.

Andreas Pereira has signed a new contract at Manchester United, keeping him at the club until at least June 2018 (with an option to extend for a further year).
The 19-year-old says: "I am pleased to have signed my new contract. I am at the right club to continue my development as a player and to learn as much as I can."
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal admits he is concerned to see his side lose three matches in a row without scoring.
The Reds had pushed into a wonderful position after April's Manchester derby win but defeats to Chelsea, Everton and West Brom have left the door ajar to Liverpool and Tottenham in a bid for a Champions League spot.
Robin van Persie's return on Saturday failed to end the goal drought, as he saw a second-half penalty saved by Boaz Myhill, after Jonas Olsson deflected a Chris Brunt free-kick past David De Gea for a shock winner.
"Normally, Robin shoots the penalties very well but it was also a good save from the keeper," van Gaal told MUTV. "You also have to give credit to the goalkeeper.
"It’s a concern now [a lack of goals] because it’s not a coincidence and, in spite of the way we have played against Chelsea, Everton and now against West Bromwich Albion, we have created a lot of chances and still we don’t score."
We won't lie - this story makes for slightly difficult reading when you consider the result at Old Trafford on Saturday.
United dominated against West Brom in all areas... except where it mattered most.
