The Maliba Community Development Trust partnered with local youth leaders and hosted a soccer Tournament between the Ts’ehlanyane , Pela Tsoeu and Kota communities, three local communities who benefit from the work of the Maliba Trust.

The Tournament commenced in September 2015 with twelve local team participating.

The aim of the tournament was to promote more healthy forms of activity and entertainment in an effort to decrease the levels of crime and alcohol abuse amongst the communities.

Overall the tournament ran exceptionally, with all players and spectators enjoying themselves thoroughly.

The Tournament was won by team Rovers from the Kota community followed by Team Lipofa from Kota who were placed second and Team Cosmos from Pela Tsoeu who placed third.

Prizes for the winning teams included Soccer kits, Trophies, Medals as well as soccer balls for the teams to enjoy on return to their villages.
I the tournament has certainly sparked a renewed interest in the game soccer and created a greater solidarity between the team mates.

Maliba Trust Manager, Daniel Ts’osi noted “We are thrilled with the success of the Tournament and look forward to hosting it again next year! We hope that this will incentivise the youth of the communities to actively participate in more healthy forms of recreation!”

The African Pied Wagtail (Motacilla aguimp) may be found across much of sub-Saharan Africa, including Lesotho. It generally prefers wide rivers and other water bodies with sandy banks or scattered boulders, Making Lesotho an ideal habitat! This striking monogamous bird is incredibly territorial and will often be caught attacking its reflection in car mirrors! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/555420566524257539/

Top 10 Places To Visit In Lesotho
Although a small country, Lesotho boasts an assortment of fantastic attractions that tourists can visit and discover the history and heritage of both the Basotho people and the Mountain Kingdom.

1. Tse’hlanyane National Park

Ts'ehlanyane National Park, view from the mountain top.
Ts’ehlanyane National Park
This National Park is as underrated as it is underused. This is the largest park in Lesotho and no other place is about as far away from it all as Ts’ehlanyane.

This Lesotho Northern Park protects a beautiful high-altitude, 5600-hectare patch of rugged wilderness, including one of Lesotho’s only stands of indigenous forest with a number of rare undergrowth plants that are unique to this woodland habitat.

Did you Know? The boundary defining Lesotho is one of the few that can be seen from space! http://spaceref.com/onorbit/south-africa-and-lesotho-as-seen-from-orbit.html
The crew member used a short lens that mimics closely what the human eye seesin this case, a big panorama from a point over northern South Africa, looking southeast to the Indian Ocean. The image shows many details, but one of the most striking is the political boundary defining the small ...

July 2015 We keep very good memories of our visit to River Lodge self catering. The road to Tsehlanyane National Park is well maintained and really beautiful. Not being at high altitude, you will have little chance of being snowbound in winter ... We received a warm welcome and the first thing to do after checking is to enjoy a drink on the terrace with mountain views. The self catering cottages are planned for 8 people ... Being a family of three it goes without saying that we had the space! The kitchen is very well equipped, the lounge - dining room is large and a wood stove is waiting for a match to warm you ... Advice : make your shopping before in Butha Buthe ... The rooms are comfortable and you can fall asleep lulled by the sound of the river that passes just below. The cottage has 2 terraces. The most pleasant is located on the first floor from which you have a beautiful view of the mountains and the river .... We also experienced the Maliba restaurant. And we were not disappointed. A board, choose trout. In fact, it is nets without fish bone which is also suitable for children. Trail : you can cross the river at the "pooling place" and follow the path that goes up the mountain. Unfortunately, a little further it is "difficult" to cross another river without removing his shoes that's a bit too cold in winter. PS: Thanks to Patrick for firewood supply
