Hello everyone! Welcome to Episode XIX of the bi-weekly 'Life Without eMail' vodcasting series with co-hosts Claire Burge and Luis Suarez.

In this week's vodcasting episode, we are very honoured and rather excited to have a very special guest, +Alan Lepofsky (@alanlepo), from Constellation Research, who has been working around collaboration software for over two decades, and who will be talking with us about the real purpose of email and how / where does it fit within the current landscape of Enterprise Social Networking tools, as well as how to cope with that phase of denial when trying to make the jump from traditional collaborative tools into more modern ones.

Alan, with almost two decades of experience in the software industry, has helped companies understand how to develop and/or implement collaboration solutions that help employees get their work done. Rather than evangelising how social software needs to completely change the way people work, he prefers to focus on how organisations can improve their existing business processes by providing access to the colleagues, content and communities that can help people get their work done more effectively

We look forward to seeing you all joining us live on this week's vodcast at 16:00 UK time (noon EDT) on Friday, October 30th. Come and join us!

There will be a live Q&A session as well during the live vodcast, so you can share across any potential questions you may have with us. Join us! It will be fun!

The hashtag for this vodcasting series as well as the 'Life Without eMail' movement will be #noemail

Hello everyone! Welcome to Episode XVII of the bi-weekly 'Life Without eMail' vodcasting series with co-hosts Claire Burge and Luis Suarez.

In this week's vodcasting eposide, we are truly honoured to have a very special guest, +Marie-Louise Collard (Communications Manager at UBM), talking about the topic of whether we should be different at work than we are at home, whether we should keep wearing masks, even when processing email!, and how does that influence the overall theme of Happiness at Work. Hello everyone! Welcome to Episode XVI of the bi-weekly 'Life Without eMail' vodcasting series with co-hosts Claire Burge and Luis Suarez.

In this week's vodcasting eposide, both Claire and Luis will converse about the second phase of the change process when embracing #noemail : dealing with the loss. After having talked about the first phase in the last couple of episodes (i.e.Anger), it's now a good time to discuss the impact of loss and what happens when systems change:

1. Identity and how loss itself is tied to systems
2. With the new system, new ways of thinking, new neural pathways
3. How do people actually process loss: anger, excitement, cynicism, etc.

We look forward to seeing you all joining us live on this week's vodcast at 16:00 UK time (noon EDT) on Friday, July 18th. Come and join us!

There will be a live Q&A session as well during the live vodcast, so you can share across any potential questions you may have with us. Come and join us! It will be fun!

Hello everyone! Welcome to Episode XV of the bi-weekly 'Life Without eMail' vodcasting series with co-hosts Claire Burge and Luis Suarez.

In this week's vodcasting eposide, we are truly honoured and rather excited to have with us +Phil Simon, author of the recent book 'Message Not Received' (See http://kcy.me/26q0w for more details) where we will be talking about the current state of business communications and with a special emphasis on email. To quote:

'If bad business communication is a disease, the prevalence of hackneyed and utterly meaningless terms is just one of its major causes. Aside from using confusing language, many corporate folks depend almost exclusively on a single communications vehicle: e-mail. In the process, they actively resist new, powerful, and truly collaborative tools specifically designed to make people work and communicate better.'

Phil Simon (http://www.philsimon.com/) is a frequent keynote speaker and recognized technology authority. He is the award-winning author of seven management books, most recently Message Not Received. He consults organizations on matters related to communications, strategy, data, and technology. His contributions have been featured on The Harvard Business Review, CNN, Wired, NBC, CNBC, Inc. Magazine, BusinessWeek, The Huffington Post, Quartz, The New York Times, Fox News, and many other sites.

Come and join us in this week's vodcasting episode where Phil will be sharing with us how 'intelligent professionals and organizations are embracing simpler language and new technologies to communicate in a much more straightforward and effective manner.' by putting email right where it belongs! :)

We look forward to seeing you all joining us live on this week's vodcast at 16:00 UK time (noon EDT) on Friday, August 28th. Don't miss out!

There will be a live Q&A session as well during the live vodcast, so you can share across any potential questions you may have with us. Come and join us! It will be fun!

Dear Google Plus, Why?

Why, my dear G+, do you make things so hard upon thyself to the point where you keep dragging me away from you with certain moves that, if anything, keep destroying the overall user experience from yours truly?

First, it was Google Hangouts (split up); then it was Google Photos (another split up I'm not interested in, thanks!); then the magical SHARE button across Google services gone with the wind making it awkwardly difficult to share posts, and now Google Plus Photos shutting down on August 1st?

Seriously, what are you thinking, my beloved Google Plus? Will you keep canibalising thyself to the point of extinction and thanks for all the fish dumping us all after all of these years? Or will you correct course and become the über-awesomeness you once were?

Shall we start looking for a new home then? I mean, we can all adapt and everything to certain changes, but from that to deteriorate the overall entire user experience with some rather weird decision making in the process is a bit of an stretch. Unfortunately, that seems to be direction you seem to have taken and it is starting to hurt and pretty badly.

Will you correct course and be who you once were (best in class), once again? Please. Pretty please. The alternative is already rather ugly as it is.

Don't work this hard to make us all walk away from you. Please. You can do much much better than that. We all know that. Don't let us despair and show us all how much you care. Because you do care, after all, right?

Thanks so much!

Your beloved and somewhat worried fan(s) #kthxbai

Hello everyone! Welcome to Episode XI of the bi-weekly 'Life Without eMail' vodcasting series with co-hosts Claire Burge and Luis Suarez.

In today's vodcasting episode both Claire and Luis will co-host our special guest +Richard Denyer-Bewick (@therichdb) to continuing picking things up from our last episode and cover one of the most controversial topics around #noemail   itself: Why is it so hard for my colleagues to embrace #noemail , just like I did? Will I be able to succeed on this journey without them? If not, what can I do? And, most importantly, why is it so difficult to live #noemail in the public sector, i.e. local government (in this case).

In this particular episode we will be interviewing Rich to share his in-depth experiences, insights, lessons learned and so on, from over the course of time, about his own #noemail journey in local government and where he'll be able to share with us the benefits, the struggles, the key learning(s), what worked, what didn’t, and, eventually, how you, too, could become a #noemail advocate and practitioner within your own organisation, whether from the private or public sector.

Rich has been blogging along his #noemail journey for a few weeks now sharing some pretty interesting, insightful and resourceful articles you could have a look into over here > https://rdbwegonow.wordpress.com/2015/05/09/the-sickening-realisation-that-email-was-bad-for-me/ as well as in https://rdbwegonow.wordpress.com/2015/05/13/no-email-revelation-and-revolution/ and, finally, '10 Top Tips To Slay The Email Beast' - https://rdbwegonow.wordpress.com/2015/06/11/getting-started-with-noemail-10-top-tips-to-slay-the-email-beast/
