On Tuesday morning I had a really early start. I swim with Tim Andrews (http://lomokev.com/blog/tim-andrews-hill-montage-portrait/) on the other side of the West Pier at 6AM before the sun came up . When I was done I cycled back to Brighton Pier where my swimming club is to have a shower. After that I was able to take some shots of the swimmers as they had there later swim.

Checkout more images of Brighton swimming club on my website here: http://lomokev.com/portfolio/brighton-swimming-club-open-water-swimming/

This is an except from my recent batch of Hidden Lightroom tips, little Lightroom knowledge nuggets that you might not necessarily know. Read all the tips on my blog here: http://lomokev.com/blog/nine-hidden-tips-adobe-lightroom-5/

Tip #4 Unlocking Link Focus in Compare Mode

If you are comparing images in the Library and Develop module you can zoom into images to compare details, when you scroll around one image the other one will also scroll. This is great if both images are shot on a tripod and everything is in the same place in both images but if they were shot hand held certain details might not be in the same location which will make comparing images harder. Zoomed images can be scroll independently if the Shift key is held down when moving one of the images.

This is the September - November batch of Street Style Montage Portraits that I shot for Brighton source Magazine. Unfortunately Brighton Source had to close at the beginning of the year because of shrinking advertising revenues so these are the last that I will shot for source magazine. I will still be shooting them as a personal project and will continue posting them here and on my fragmented portraits tumblr: http://fragmentedportraits.tumblr.com/

You can read more about the unfortunate demise of Brighton Source and my future plans for the project in my latest blog post here: http://lomokev.com/blog/last-of-my-brighton-source-magazine-street-style-montage-portraits/

Dubble (that's spelt right) for the iPhone realised a major update today. If you did not know it randomly pairs up your photos with another random user's to create beautiful double exposures. I wrote a blog post about the update: http://lomokev.com/blog/double-exposure-app-dubble-iphone-becoming-social/.  I also wrote a review on the day of launch: http://lomokev.com/blog/double-exposure-app-dubble-for-the-iphone-review/.

I also had the foresight review a little app called Instagram when it less than a month old:  http://lomokev.com/blog/instagram-review-iphone-app/  I might have a little form for picking out the winners!

Finally got round to writing a review of the Android powered Samsung Galaxy NX which is the first interchangeable lens camera to run Android. You can read my review here: http://lomokev.com/blog/hands-on-review-of-the-android-powered-samsung-galaxy-nx/  The Galaxy NX is a DSLR style camera (minus the mirror) that you can install all your favourite photo apps like Instagram, Flickr etc and it’s always connected to the net via WiFi/3G/4G. My Instagram (http://instagram.com/lomokev) has pretty much all been shot on this camera since Nov 2013. This also means that for every photo on my Instagram I also have as a high res RAW file so I get the best of both worlds, posting in the moment and extremely high quality photos. Take a look at this Flickr set to see more images taken with the camera: https://www.flickr.com/photos/lomokev/sets/72157638021279636

I've been shooting in the mornings with an Olympus O-MD EM-5 + under water housing that Olympus leant me. Because it's quite hard to get a decent shot in the water when you bashed by the waves I just leave it on continues high mode, which means I have a lot animated gif fodder. It's an amazing camera system, I reviewed the Olympus O-MD EM-1 last year which you can read about here: http://lomokev.com/blog/olympus-om-d-e-m1-hands-review/

This weekend (15th-16th Match) is the last chance to catch the Tony Ray-Jones / Martin Parr photography exhibition at the Media Space in the London Science Museum. If you live in London and have not seen it I highly recommend you take a look: http://lomokev.com/blog/only-in-england-tony-ray-jones-martin-parr-exhibition-london-science-museums-new-media-space/
The London Science Museum has opened its new Media Space Gallery with its first exhibition “Only in England”, showcasing work from Tony Ray-Jones and Martin Parr. The Media Space Gallery was set up in partnership with the National Media Museum in Bradford to show the National Photography Collection which the National Media Museum houses. The space is now one of the largest photographic galleries in London and each exhibition at the Media Space Ga...

Tip #3 Collapse Sub Folders and Nested Collections

After rooting around a photo library you might have lots of nested folders open and they can be quite time consuming to close. By simply holding down Alt and clicking the arrow next to the parent folder you will collapse all folders inside. Next time you open up the folder all the folders inside will be collapsed. I also noticed this works in the Finder on the Mac when you are looking at folders in list view.

I take photos, Teach other people how to take photos and Write about taking photos.
Introduction
I am not what most people would consider to be an average photographer. Armed with a selection of compact film cameras, I never leave home without one and I am always ready to capture anything that happens around me. I always have on going projects witch I am always adding weather it be my photographs of Brighton swimming club (http://goo.gl/9M8JE), montage portraits (http://fragmentedportraits.tumblr.com/) or Festival Wellies photos on Flickr (http://goo.gl/AX68a).

In October 2008 my first solo book Hot Shots (http://goo.gl/GWPj6) was released in the UK, it sold out its UK and US print runs in under a year.  It is an instructional book for everyday people and is intended to help them sex up their photography, without being too bogged down in technical jargon. Since then I have written a 2nd book Photo Op (US title) / 52 Photographic Projects (UK title) (http://goo.gl/zomTD). This book goes more in depth in to 52 different photo graphic techniques. I have a passion for passing on my knowledge of photography and regularly teach photography courses (http://goo.gl/GJeSI). At the start of 2011 my 3rd book Toy Cameras (http://goo.gl/6J0Fp) was published, this book is lists 40 different toy cameras and lists the quirks.

I have also had work published in two Lomo photographic books, one called "Spirit" and the other, "Don't Think Just Shoot." My work has also featured in a range of publications including Photo Pro Magazine, DSLR user magazine, Olympus User Magazine, Russian Esquire, Sonntagszeitung, and the BBC news website. I was a regular contributor to JPG magazine from when it first launched in 2005. In 2006 I was on the panel of judges in New York for flickr.com's "Blink of the Eye" photo competition and judged again in 2008 for pixish.com's "The SXSW Gallery Show" competition. I work commercially as a photographer for a range of different clients which have included Phillips, The Times, The Commonwealth Games 2002, Dr Martens, Stomp, Dell and Imogen Heap.

Quote possibly one of the one of the best burgers I have had in my life. After having one I ordered another and scoffed the 2nd down. The guys that run this place are super passionate about what they do. The mince there one locally sourced beef + all there other ingredients are locally sourced to which is all good. Will definitely be visiting this place more often.
