Along with 9 other photographers I've one of my photos printed on to some limited edition beer mats as part of the Tap Takeover beer festival in Brighton this weekend (9th-10th April). They can be collected from the different pubs taking part in the festival, mine is in the Hope & Ruin. Along with beer mats there are also 30+ crafts beers to try along with live music, venues are free to get into but you can get wrist bands that give you additional perks for £15. The beer mats were curated by The Photocopy club  and MiniClick talks. More info on the other artists on my blog here: http://lomokev.com/blog/tap-take-beer-festival-beer-mat-photography-exhibition/ and you check out the festivals website here: http://www.taptakeover.co.uk/

If you in London you need to check out Martin Parr's Unseen City exhibition at the Guildhall Art Gallery. Martin got exclusive access to the weird world of the City's guilds and traditions. I've done a little write on my blog here: http://lomokev.com/blog/martin-parr-unseen-city-exhibition/. Conventaly it's only a stone's throw away from Strangely Familiar which he created at the Barbican, definitely worth hitting both in one day. I’ve also wrote about Strangely Familiar: http://lomokev.com/blog/martin-parr-strange-familiar-barbican/
Unseen City is a photographic exhibition by Martin Parr containing a new body of work exploring the strange & bizarre world of the City of London

Everyone should watch Dennis Morris' What do artists do all day. The guy shot Bob Marly and the Sex Pistols on their UK tours. Great quote from Dennis: "I always wanted to be war photographer but I was to young to go to Vietnam. When I worked with sex pistols I found my own private war because it was absolute chaos". http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b073mny3/what-do-artists-do-all-day-23-dennis-morris

United Nations of Photography interview with Jim Mortram. He is doing such important work and this needs to seen. http://unitednationsofphotography.com/2016/01/20/video-interview-with-jim-mortram/
Jim Mortram told the UNP in 2012 that “If it wasn’t for the people in the project, my camera would just be an expensive paperweight”. The 40-year-old photographer who lives and works just outside D...

Dave and Fiona showing off the fish they caught while swimming. Members of Brighton swimming club swim and fish and the same time using a primitive bamboo fishing rods. This set of images was taken last summer on a Lomo LC-A 120 and Lomography's 800 asa colour film. The LC-A 120 is the medium format version of the Lomo LC-A. I recently wrote a review of the latest incarnation of Lomography's lomo LC-A you can read it on my blog here: http://lomokev.com/blog/lomo-lca-120-medium-format-camera-review/ #brighton #wildswimming #fishing #portrait #lomography #lomolca120 #mediumformat

Starlings flocking around Brighton Pier, they appear about 20 minutes before sunset and about 5 minutes after the sun goes down (even if it's behind cloud) they stop. Taken last month, I have not been down the pier at sunset for a few weeks so not sure if they are still murmurations like this. On the subject of Brighton I'm running a photo course here on the weekend of the 7th May more details on my site here: http://lomokev.com/hot-shots-the-photography-course/

Big up my Colourstream crew. Without them I could not run my photography workshops like I do. On my workshops everyone shots one roll of colour and one roll of black and white film. Apart from London there are probably not many palaces in UK where you could get B&W + colour developed in an hour on a Saturday. I also shot 2 rolls and I inevitable end shooting off pictures in the lab as we return the film. More about my photography course here: http://lomokev.com/hot-shots-the-photography-course/

Shot on a Lomo LCA and Ilford HP5

Introduction
I am not what most people would consider to be an average photographer. Armed with a selection of compact film cameras, I never leave home without one and I am always ready to capture anything that happens around me. I always have on going projects witch I am always adding weather it be my photographs of Brighton swimming club (http://goo.gl/9M8JE), montage portraits (http://fragmentedportraits.tumblr.com/) or Festival Wellies photos on Flickr (http://goo.gl/AX68a).

In October 2008 my first solo book Hot Shots (http://goo.gl/GWPj6) was released in the UK, it sold out its UK and US print runs in under a year.  It is an instructional book for everyday people and is intended to help them sex up their photography, without being too bogged down in technical jargon. Since then I have written a 2nd book Photo Op (US title) / 52 Photographic Projects (UK title) (http://goo.gl/zomTD). This book goes more in depth in to 52 different photo graphic techniques. I have a passion for passing on my knowledge of photography and regularly teach photography courses (http://goo.gl/GJeSI). At the start of 2011 my 3rd book Toy Cameras (http://goo.gl/6J0Fp) was published, this book is lists 40 different toy cameras and lists the quirks.

I have also had work published in two Lomo photographic books, one called "Spirit" and the other, "Don't Think Just Shoot." My work has also featured in a range of publications including Photo Pro Magazine, DSLR user magazine, Olympus User Magazine, Russian Esquire, Sonntagszeitung, and the BBC news website. I was a regular contributor to JPG magazine from when it first launched in 2005. In 2006 I was on the panel of judges in New York for flickr.com's "Blink of the Eye" photo competition and judged again in 2008 for pixish.com's "The SXSW Gallery Show" competition. I work commercially as a photographer for a range of different clients which have included Phillips, The Times, The Commonwealth Games 2002, Dr Martens, Stomp, Dell and Imogen Heap.

Me and my wife have been going to the Sukhothai Palace at least once every 2 weeks for getting on for 6 years and I can't fault it. We manly take advantage of the cheep meal deal which is £5-£7 depending on weather you have meat or prawns (there is a vegetarian option to but such things do not concern me). For the £5-£7 you get a starter and main, you have to order before 5 to take advantage of the meal deal. I always go for the Prawn toast and Pad Cashew with Pork. There is a covered out door area as well which is great in the summer. We have also been a few times in the evening and fond it most agreeable. If you are coming to Brighton for the weekend you definitely need to have you lunch at this place, it's a Brighton institution in my mind.

The guys in the vault are really friendly and knowledgeable, i've been using them for getting on for 10 years. I use them for everything from large format prints and mounting to scanning. They scanned all the artwork to high standard for all the books I have ever published. Keeping film alive in Sussex you have to respect them for that.

Quote possibly one of the one of the best burgers I have had in my life. After having one I ordered another and scoffed the 2nd down. The guys that run this place are super passionate about what they do. The mince there one locally sourced beef + all there other ingredients are locally sourced to which is all good. Will definitely be visiting this place more often.

Dead friendly service and by far the best full English on breakfast in Brighton possibly Sussex. There home made soups are also off the hook. Even there toast is a amazing due the use of farm made locally sourced butter!
