Grammy nominated guitar-slinger, troublemaker, raconteur, producer, and Georgia boy Butch Walker will release his 8th studio album Stay Gold, on August 26 via Lojinx in Europe.

As a writer of dozens of songs with hooks that stick in your head, Rolling Stone has called Walker, “one of America’s best singer-songwriters,” as he has penned choruses you want to sing (or shout) along to from acts including Frank Turner, Brian Fallon, Taylor Swift, and many more. He is a teller of authentic stories of exploits and predicaments and romance that are filled with optimism; builder of albums with no boundaries – rock, pop, Americana, singer-songwriter…or, as he says, “I think it’s all just rock & roll.”

Stay Gold will be available on a limited edition of 500 gatefold heavyweight gold vinyl LP, in addition to CD & digital. Lojinx direct pre-orders can also opt for an exclusive metallic-gold printed t-shirt bundle. Lojinx, iTunes and Amazon MP3 pre-orders include instant grat downloads of “Stay Gold” and “East Coast Girl”.

Butch Walker: Some songs are often personal… I was talking to a friend of mine, Ashley Monroe, over telephone typing while she was on a flight to LA (airplane wifi.. My high school self would laugh at the possibility of this). We were getting real and talking about relationships and how it’s impossible for it to be as perfect as the movies made it out to be. Right about the time I asked how hers was, she said, “We’re Descending..” I had to ask, immediately, if everything was okay. She said, “yes! The plane is landing, so I gotta go..”. After I told her that I was worried she was referring to her relationship, I told her “that’s our song we are going to write”. We pretty much wrote most of the song via text, and got together and finished it in 10 minutes on my piano. Anyway… Here’s “Descending”…

Rock ‘n’ roll has rarely been as smart, soulful or satisfying than it has in the hands of The Posies. During an on/off career that’s stretched across four decades, the Seattle-rooted outfit, led by musical polymaths Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow, have shaped and re-shaped their muse, creating one of the more compelling catalogues in modern pop.

With SOLID STATES, their 8th album, the Posies mark dramatic changes in the lives, the music, the evolution of the band.

When the Posies long time drummer, Darius, died suddenly and unexpectedly last year, Posies founding members Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow were devastated. Hard as it was to continue without such a close friend and great musician, the moment called for a reinvention. For now… the idea of the band getting into a room and banging out the music, garage band style, was over. The ideas coming from Jon and Ken were fragile and the moods contemplative. Death, divorce, loss. Even the joys of life are fleeting enough as to be treated with care and respect.

Of course, the Posies still retain their legendary melodic abilities, their trademark vocal harmonies and their lyrical agility. The band has always been exploring, growing. The multiyear gaps between albums are typically spent in countless other projects that bring new skills, sounds, experiences and people to the picture. The band will present the album live in a new format, incorporating laptop elements along with guitars, keyboards and drums. As artists, the band feels it’s their duty to take risks and explore.

“SQUIRREL vs. SNAKE” is a state of the ‘disunion’ in the USA and beyond… the disharmony, the threats to intellectual freedom, and the cynicism and lies we take for granted now in the age of doublespeak.

Solid States will be released on heavyweight vinyl LP, CD and digital on British indie Lojinx on the 29th April 2016 in Europe. A pre-release tour edition, with bonus download tracks, will be available exclusively at live shows in Europe throughout April.
