Very good point +Edgar S - there's a wide store of experience in using game console controllers, so the 'muscle memory' of using the thumb-joystick/multi-trigger/multi-button inputs would already be there. Plus they're cheap and easily replaceable. Looks like voice input would be used in most scenarios too.

In 1965, we began supporting space surveillance systems when the newly completed NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Combat Operations Center opened in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This created a strong foundation and commitment to the Colorado Springs community. With a focus on strengthening the quality of life and enhancing the city's economic growth, Lockheed Martin and its employees have contributed to supporting military families and programs that inspire students for over 50 years.

How do you build a product that can survive thousands of hours in salt water, needs no human at the controls and can handle thousands of pounds of pressure in the deep ocean? In Florida's intercostal waterway, Lockheed Martin has developed unmanned underwater vehicles and relied on manufacturing excellence in its operations. http://lmt.co/1H5YeFi
