Want to join us? All contributions are welcome! See here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing/First_Steps
As we head towards the second half of the year – and an exciting new release of LibreOffice in August – I wanted to recap some work from the Marketing Team that I've been involved in over the last few months. But before that, I'd also like to say congratulations to the LiMux team for a great Debian Bug Squashing Party! LiMux is a project by the City of Munich to transition away from proprie ...

Help to improve LibreOffice, even without writing any code – try the Easy Hacks from the Design and User Experience team:

https://design.blog.documentfoundation.org/2016/06/17/easyhackers-wanted/
LibreOffice is a community-driven product, meaning you don’t only help the development by filing bug reports and writing ideas for features. You can do even more. Quite a few of the tickets in the bug tracker have been identified as EASYHACKS, simple tasks that can be solved by people who want to start coding, or already have some experience. And some tasks do not need any coding at all. As th ...

Berlin, June 16, 2016 - The Document Foundation announces that KDE e.V. is joining the organization's Advisory Board, and at the same time The Document Foundation joins KDE's group of advising community partners as an affiliate. i am most impressed with the libre Office and very happy. I have one small issue i think could be looked at in upcoming versions. often my office worker will send me pictures to put by RAR file to add to a file and change Pdf. when i used other programs i could drag all the large file pictures at oncefrom the rar to the Word file. the Word program would automatically open new pages if the pictures to big for the first page, this is not the case with Libre, so i have to load each photo to each opened new page, before i can convert to Pdf  its time consuming. Hope this can be resolved. this is not a critscism of this fantastic software i am more than happy with it and keep up the good work.

The Document Liberation Project (DLP) helps LibreOffice, Inkscape, Scribus and many other open source applications to read files in a huge range of formats. Thanks to DLP, your old documents can still be opened and edited. Here's what has been happening in the first half of 2016:

https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2016/06/17/document-liberation-project-progress-so-far-in-2016/
If you haven't heard of the Document Liberation Project (DLP) before, we made a short video explaining what it does and why it's important. In summary: it supports development of software libraries to read documents from many (usually proprietary) applications. If you've ever opened a file generated by Apple Pages, WordPerfect or Microsoft Works in LibreOffice, you've benefitted from the hard ...
