Republicans: if you are in control of a state...then you you should get rid of the minimum wage in that state.
When President Obama proposed tax increases, free community college and other pipe dreams, Libertarians shifted in their seats, maybe even turned off the sp

No I didn't but it is not a surprise that a massive big brother spy program like that will get abused all in the name of keeping you safe. Keep in mind that the NSA has abused it's authority since 911 and we continue to elect incompetent people weather Republican or Democrat and choose to ignore the candidates qualification in favor of party affiliation

Just how much can your long-shot presidential bid be worth? Is it worth the lives of these young men and women? The Libertarian Party says, "Absolutely not!"

Your bid for a declaration of war against ISIS is unjustifiable and dangerous. Please withdraw it immediately.

Actually +jack hill that failed country turned into many small tribal communities most of which have done much better for themselves not being under a dictators control.  No govt looting their goods, they provide for their own security tailored for their needs, trade with other communities freely.  So yes, there are parts of Somalia that are more free than the US (I know that's not saying much).

Have you had your fill of some heavy handed "libertarian" moderators on google plus.  Tired of getting a nastygram whenever you try to post on something labeled "Libertarian".  Tired of having some little pencil necked pipsqueak that probably wasn't alive when you voted Paul/Marrou in '88 try to tell you what is and what is not Libertarian? Have you noticed "Libertarian" moderators tend to be arrogant, self important, jerks who think they are better than you?
 Welcome!

Nothing has damaged American education more than government involvement. Federal and state governments have decimated innovation, forced everyone into a one-size-fits-none model of education, and filled curricula with indoctrination and incompetence. American government-run schools have become a national embarrassment.

The good news is that private sector programs have made it feasible for America to rapidly transition away from incompetent, government education to high quality, low or no cost, individualized education. In fact, we can start the transition right away, and in the process eliminate Federal and State Departments of Education and cut taxes accordingly.

1. End all truancy laws. By what right does anyone tell an overachiever that he must be held back by a traditional school, instead of using programs like Khan Academy, Coursera, or one of the hundreds of other free, low cost, or premier private sector programs?

And by what right or logic does anyone tell an underachiever that he must stay in the very system that turned him into an underachiever?

With truancy laws gone, parents and students will be able to choose the most effective form of education, instead of being forced to be part of an educational model that doesn't work for them.
With truancy laws gone, we will have more choice, better quality, and lower cost education.

2. Give tax credits to any person who does not have kids in public school (including people who don't have children). This ends the practice of forcing everyone to support a counterproductive system, and gives parents the incentive to choose the education that is actually best for their children.

3. Eliminate all restrictions on charitable schooling. Those who want to run free schools should face no government interference or restriction of any kind.

We can start phasing out government schooling today, and be completely free of this disastrous boondoggle for good. We can replace counterproductive, indoctrination-heavy, government schooling with effective, individualized, private sector education today.

To help make this happen, join a campaign in your state at http://buff.ly/1FidNFX. Or, to make an even bigger contribution to the cause of liberty, run for office: http://buff.ly/1FidQkS

I agree. We need a good education system with longer school years.

Story
Tagline
The Libertarian Party is America's third largest and fastest growing political party.
Introduction
The Libertarian Party is your representative in American politics. It is the only political organization which respects you as a unique and competent individual.
merica's Heritage

Libertarians believe in the American heritage of liberty, enterprise, and personal responsibility. Libertarians recognize the responsibility we all share to preserve this precious heritage for our children and grandchildren.

Free and Independent

Libertarians believe that being free and independent is a great way to live. We want a system which encourages all people to choose what they want from life; that lets them live, love, work, play, and dream their own way.

Caring For People

The Libertarian way is a caring, people-centered approach to politics. We believe each individual is unique. We want a system which respects the individual and encourages us to discover the best within ourselves and develop our full potential.

Principled; Consistent

The Libertarian way is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership. Each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property. Government's only role is to help individuals defend themselves from force and fraud.

Tolerant

The Libertarian Party is for all who don't want to push other people around and don't want to be pushed around themselves. Live and let live is the Libertarian way.
