🎗NEW POST UP🎗 "We assume mental health based on the presence or absence of the appearance of 'functioning.' We fail to realise functioning does not indicate mental health any more than the sun indicates warmth." // READ: LIBEROMAGAZINE.COM

"It’s hard to stay positive when it feels like your own body and mind has waged war against you.
But now, I’ve learned the only way you can begin on the journey of recovery: by saying to yourself, “This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but this is also teaching me about myself, and that’s pretty awesome. I’m stronger for this struggle, I’ve survived this long, and I’ll survive for a lot longer." // Share your story using #thisisMH and don't forget to tag us: @liberomagazine #mentalhealthawarenessmonth

"Freedom from Anorexia is knowing I have and will always have a mental illness, but recognising I have the power to manage it and to prepare for it, never allowing it to seep into a dominant position in my brain again." -Tabitha // Read Tabitha's full story on our Community Blog (liberomagazine.com/communityblog) #thisisMH #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #liberomagazine

🌼We love this Free From photo and statement from Body Love Advocate Anastasia Amour, Self-Love Coach 🌼
"Instead of hopelessness, I’m filled with positivity and energy and a burning passion to help others achieve the same thing. I no longer have to put on a mask of confidence and false hope, because true joy shines from within me.
I’m finally living, and it’s beautiful." #thisisMH #liberomagazine

"I struggled for many years to stay stable in my recovery, but with each backslide I remember that my eating disorder never solves my problems. One of the most helpful things about recovery was learning that I was enough, and realizing that “perfect” bodies (and lives) don’t exist. There is nothing wrong with your body, so stop fixating on all the “flaws” you see. There aren’t any flaws, just differences." -Melanie #thisisMH #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #liberomagazine

"Speaking out, writing poems, and going to support groups has really helped me in recovery, as there are many inspirational and beautiful people in the world willing to help and understand you. I believe there is hope out there for all of us. We will get where we want to be and defeat the demons in our heads. WE CAN CHANGE THE THOUGHTS IN OUR HEADS AND MAKE THEM LIKE US INSTEAD." -Megan #thisisMH #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #liberomagazine

"A decade went by before I finally hit my own personal rock bottom and decided to get help. I was sick and tired of lying, stealing, manipulating, losing trust, ruining relationships, internships, job opportunities and simply missing out on life. I am nowhere near being fully recovered and I still have days where I struggle, but I am grateful every single day to finally have a second chance at life. No matter how difficult recovery might seem, staying sick is much worse and it quickly becomes clear that THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO LIFE THAN AN EATING DISORDER." -Kelsi #thisisMH #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #liberomagazine

👊via our #StopFitspiration campaign👊 Don't neglect your mental health in pursuit of physical health. Health is about balance and you shouldn't feel ashamed for choosing balance over "goals". Remember, just as health comes at every size, so does fitness, and--most importantly--so does beauty. Choose MENTAL HEALTH + BALANCE and ditch the unrealistic body ideals! #takingbackMH #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth
