Today I'd like to introduce the world to something I've been hard at work
on for the past couple of months. If a year ago, when I was doing my high
school finals, somebody told me that I would have accomplished
something like this, I wouldn't have believed them. University has been
fantastic so far, and it's been a hell of a ride. So, what's all this fuss
DAMN is a self-published magazine about Design, Art, Music & Nightlife
Yesterday I published four images that were the result of corrupted files
from my Fuji– completely unintentional glitch art. Today I'm publishing
intentional "remixes" of those images done with the brilliant iPhone &
Android app Generate. Since the starting point was already quite far from
reality, I decided to push the generative effects as far as I can push them
and still have people understanding what the source photograph was intend...
This year's Design Week was a blast, and ended with a bang (at least for
me). On Sunday evening, careless of how little I had rested during the
week, I went to the last Elita Design Week Festival concert at Teatro
Franco Parenti. I didn't make it in time for Coma and Dardust, and I had to
leave before Gilles Peterson & MC Earl Zinger started their performance,
but I didn't miss the acts I had came for: Gui Boratto and Ninos Du Brasil
It's been a hell of a month, but I've finally managed to process the photos
I shot at Elita Design Week Festival on Thursday. The artists performing
were Kate Tempest, Portico, Kindness and Kiasmos, but unfortunately I
couldn't stay for the latter's performance. On the bright side, Kindness'
show was incredible! There was a really great vibe – the music was upbeat,
groovy, and rich, but most of all, the band onstage danced and jumped

Terraforma is an experimental and sustainable music festival. Based in the
beautiful park surrounding Villa Arconati, just out of Milan, the annual
gathering has grown to an internationally acclaimed event. Last
week Terraforma hosted a special event in collaboration with the Carhartt
WIP store in Corso di Porta Ticinese. While Ruggero (aka RPM) spinned some
of his favorite records, street artist ARIS painted on the store's window.
If you've ever heard me discuss Fuji X cameras, one of the things I talk
the most about is how good the files are straight off the camera. The
colors are rich, the details are crisp, and the high ISO performance is
incredible for an APS-C sensor. Today, while shooting some good old street
photography during a flash rain/hailstorm, I must have somehow managed to
corrupt the RAW files from my brand new X-T1. The pictures looked quite
During this year's Milan Design Week, the Tortona Design District was home
to design exhibitions and events from very diverse cultures. While Brera
was the center for Italian design, Ventura Lambrate acted as a hub for
Nordic design and DesignJunction gathered British design in the San Babila
/ Monforte area, Tortona hosted everything from the Superdesign Show at
Superstudio Più to France Design, from Tokyo Design Week to special
Last Thursday I spent the afternoon at Ventura Lambrate, one of the most
interesting districts of Milan Design Week. In April Lambrate becomes home
to a plethora of independent designers and artists. While some buildings
host the work of local craftsmen, most of what can be seen at Ventura
Lambrate comes from Northern Europe, especially the Netherlands. There's
also a strong presence of art and design academic institutions – possibly
Last week Elita hosted its tenth Design Week Festival. During the opening
night at the Teatro Parenti talented singer/songwriter/pianist Benjamin
Clementine played an intimate set to a massive crowd (since the entry fee
was only €1). Clementine got onstage barefoot and without a shirt under his
blazer, sat in front of piano, and started to play. His beautiful voice
resonated through the venue and delighted the crowd. I was very impresse...
