We need your help! We have noticed an increase in the amount of trash left behind by our guests, which not only harms nature but is also disrespectful to other guests and the Krause family.

We want to encourage our visitors to practice the 7 principles of "Leave No Trace," specifically Disposing of Waste Properly. Our limited staff and members of the Krause family spend countless hours maintaining the land, pools and property every week for guests to come and enjoy.

We want guests to treat our property with the same amount of respect that they would their own. Please clean up after yourself, "Pack it in. Pack it out." and if you see any visitors being disrespectful, kindly remind them that we have tons of trash bins they can use.

Click the link to read more about the Leave No Trace principles. Feel free to add your thoughts in the comments below. Let's keep Krause Springs beautiful!

Amazing place!!! We took our 9,7, and 2 yr old and they had a blast. Yes it is a little bit of a hike down to the water but my 2 yr old did just fine holding my hand. I would not consider it anymore dangerous or difficult to get to than any other river or spring we have been to in Texas. In fact it is an easier hike than other places we have been with small children. The key is good water shoes and take only what you really need down to the river part. I (age 39 1/2) and my 9 yr old went off the rope swing. The owners and staff were very friendly. Highly recommend this gorgeous hill country beauty!

It is a great place! Beautiful! We showed Labor Day evening and the place was pretty much cleared out. We were a little discouraged because there was a lot of trash, (Labor Day weekend is a big weekend), but when we woke up Tuesday morning there were people out cleaning it up. The owners were very nice over the phone and when we arrived. THE BATHROOMS!!! They are, by far, the nicest campground bathrooms i have seen!! I would love to return when it is not directly following a holiday weekend!

First, this place is gorgeous; however, it is not a good place for young kids, and the website was not clear about that. The terrain leading down to the river is filled with roots, slopes, and mud. If you are taking children under the age of seven, expect to have trouble getting down to the river and swimming in the river once you arrive. If you are also bringing bags/ice chest with you, it is even more difficult. Wear water shoes, not flip-flops.
Response from the owner - 7 months ago
Hi Stephen, thank you for coming to visit us and taking the time to leave a review. We feel like our property is a good place for families, including young kids. We have a man-made pool at the top of our property that is easy to reach and is shallow enough for kids (and adults) to enjoy. If you choose to traverse down to the natural pool below, there are 2 sets of stairs that can be used, one is easier than the other. We do have information on our website that says to bring water shoes or slip-proof shoes, located on our frequently asked questions page. Like any campsite or natural swimming pool, there will be some terrain that requires careful footing, but we don't believe that makes our property a bad place for young kids. If you feel there should be additional information on our website or have any suggestions for improvement, please feel free to contact us. Once again, thanks for visiting, we hope to see you back in the future.

Happy giant Cypress feed by trickling springs makes this swimming hole a family favorite. Bring a picnic and your hammock to make your visit last all day!

Its first come first serve if you're camping, but plenty of spots to choose from. So no worries there. The biggest thing for my family is the restrooms/showers and there were plenty of them around the area and above all, very nice, clean and private. The pool was super refreshing and lots of Austin stone picnic areas with open type grills around the pool. So pack your steaks and burgers and charcoal. There is a Corner General Store off 71 near there that has EVERYTHING you need in case you forgot something, like we always do, it's pricey, but they got it. Also... The Bar B Que restaurant next door is very good. Back to the Campsite - The staff was super nice and the owner was just as polite and informative. If you're going to tent and need electricity and water, I recommend you reserve an RV spot, otherwise its all primitive camping, but plenty of beautiful shaded spots to chose from. Make sure you bring a bucket of sorts for water in case you need to wash things or whatever. There is a peaceful butterfly garden full of wind chimes near the office and it is absolutely gorgeous for those that love that sort of stuff. Finally the waterfall and swimming hole below are a bonus. If you are carrying stuff down to the waterfall area, there is an Austin stone stair case that takes you down. Its a hike down but pretty safe. BRING SWIMMING SHOES if you're going down there. It can be slippery so watch your step. The swimming hole was nice and deep and the kids loved swinging on the rope and jumping off the cliff. Its a small swimming area but nice family camping spot. it'll usually quiet down by 10. The family has begged to go back so I give it 4 stars only because we would love to see some electrical outlets added for tent spots.

This was where we took our children for their first camping experience a few years ago. The staff was polite, the sites were wonderful, the waterfalls were pretty, and the cool spring fed pool was fantastic. They also had a tasty sno-cone stand. The drive to the campground goes through a working ranch; our children loved seeing the "moo moo's".

Great family place. The cliffs and rope swing are a blast but the water was a little murky after a while. Oh, and the water is cccccooold but refreshing..

It's a good place to go with a few friends, it is fun to walk through all the tree roots and find the smaller waterfall. There are always loud drunk people but oh well sometimes it's funny. Best to bring some sort of floating device, & beware of turtles &snakes. There is also a sweet little garden with chimes to walk through.
