IFRS 15 will be effective for year-ends that commence on or after 1 January 2017 (this date will be deferred to 1 January 2018 when endorsed by the IASB). This may seem like a long time but insurers should perform a GAP analysis of IFRS 15 to assess the impact, and plan the timing of implementation and possible changes to their systems. http://www.sablog.kpmg.co.za/2015/10/insurance-contracts-could-contain-non-insurance-contract-elements/
