Our #creativecharacter this week is Leonardo da Vinci! From urban planning to painting to military engineering, da Vinci followed his curiosity across fields. He was an expert at translating his creativity and ingenuity into hands-on work, no matter the field. Da Vinci believed that art and science had a close relationship, so that being good at one made you better at the other. He was truly a STEAM pioneer! http://kiwi.cr/1Uyx1kS

Cross-continental STEM design. Kids in the U.S. pair up with kids in Swaziland, Botswana and South Africa to build STEM projects after school. PBS's Design Sqaud Global will allow for kids to work on open-ended STEM projects that benefit the community and learn about a new culture. http://kiwi.cr/1RqsWJE via VOANews

"Participating children in Sweto, South Africa, were surprised to learn that English was not the first language of the kids they were matched with in the U.S. And children in the United States, where crafting materials are readily available, also knew very little about the unmet needs of their African counterparts."

Sydney Keiser is almost six years old and an expert maker. Syndey's mom, Angie, began making dresses from paper with her a few years ago. It started as an act of desperation; she needed Sydney to stop using her clothes for dress-up. The project quickly evolved as Sydney's #creativity and passion for fashion design began to shine. Angie's Instagram account quickly gained followers and this little maker is now revered for her paper and scissor projects. Sydney's latest creations can be seen on Instagram (http://bit.ly/22kJVaM). #creativecharacter

"Mayhem and I have a deal that we don’t make anything that we don’t already have the supplies for. The exception is when we run out of tape and glue. And you’ve never seen excitement like the excitement of buying a giant box of packing tape at Sam’s club on a 4 year old 😉 " Via Fashion by Mayhem (http://bit.ly/1pop6JL)
