The Sumter County Sheriff's Office chaplain announced at a vigil Wednesday night that the second officer shot by an armed and dangerous suspect earlier in the day has made it out of surgery.
Georgia Southwestern State University is currently under a campus-wide lockdown following an off-campus shooting Wednesday where two officers were shot.

Two Washington state lawmakers are pitching a proposal splitting Washington into two separate U.S. states. The representatives are co-sponsoring legislation to form a new state in eastern Washington, the state of Liberty.
State rep. Matt Shea, who proposed the state of Liberty in east Washington, says the cultures and lifestyles are drastically different in the east and the west.

Actors Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling became immortalized Wednesday at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Stone and Gosling will star in the upcoming film musical “La La Land.”
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling signed their names and then placed their hands and feet in cement - with lots of giggling in between.
