Love is a fantasy created to ease the transition of death, for with souls as stained as humans are we will all descend the stairs to hell

We walk the path of our own love,
A perfect fullness of heavens ivory doves,
A needful craving hungers no more,
You are simply my sweet homeward shore.
The mirror is your image and life begins anew,
True love finds my dreams a millennial progression with you.
We have built a private passion in a world of public fashion,
What an amazing journey we have to tell.
How do you know me so well?
I wait for the laughing specter of disappointment,
But he no longer visits the malady of tainted nights.
The wolf follows the game yet between us games are only pleasure,
You have become the ruler of love used to measure
We walk the path paved in our devotion
framed in cherished petals and blossoming hope.
Your love is my reflection mirrored on Poseidon's calm
immeasurable in its boundless need and protective charm,
gone now are yesterdays thorns as blossoms bloom
among future plans beneath life's full moon.
The specter shall hollow not our names,
for love, my dearest, is our worldly gain.
I too ask, how do you know me so well?
My eyes are opened to your quest daily as love swells
destiny calls to homeward shores,
to me, to you...I will fear no more the
vultures talons, embracing ivory doves
for now we walk upon the path of our own love.

Give me a soul that smiles,
a heart that sings to empty
skies, eyes that see, hands
that give and a spirit that
knows what it is to live.

Duane this was such good fun....i'm a little bit of a chatterbox, sorry about that :) :) :) +Duane Phillips
Let's learn about +karen hayward

Where were you born?

Planet Venus :)
I was actually born on the border of Wales, technically i guess that makes me Welsh, but I don't think we lived there long.

How many siblings do you have?
I have got two wonderful older brothers, one wonderful older sister and one wonderful younger sister. For a long time I was the youngest, I very much enjoyed the privileges of being the youngest :)

What is your marital status?
Separated, but we still occupy the same living space.

Do you have any children?
I have a daughter, she is ten ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Do you have a full time job? If so, what work do you do?
Nope...before my gal was born I was assistant manager at Snappy Snaps...this is a photo developing shop (Franchise) here in the UK. I've worked a couple of times since her birth, my favourite job was a couple of years back I was apprentice at Timpsons shoe repairs...the only girl in my area! Very much a male job, I fixed keys, shoes, used big machines that sparked!! My English degree is actually what got me the job (as well as my writing skills) I got my degree as a mature student via distance learning, this showed my capability to work alone and to progress myself. But ultimately as Emily grew her needs became more apparent and the best job for us as a unit, was for me to not work.

How many languages do you speak/read/write?
One...just English. I read once that good English, is English that can be understood by the largest amount of people within it's target audience, so with that in mind, I can speak English in many different ways :) :) :) :)

What is your favorite colour?
Blue...red...purple....hmmm and yellow and green and orange, and I like pink...I really like soft pale pastel colours like green and i love vivid colours like pink.

What is your favorite food?
FOOD. I have a very sweet tooth...desserts :) Spaghetti bolognaise :) Roast potatoes with gravy and apple sauce and mint sauce :)

What are your artistic passions?
Life :). I only discovered the artistic/creative side of me after my gal was born and it has been a very slow process of gaining confidence and self belief, but as I have grown, I have watched my artistic essence spill into all areas of my life. I have become a far more self reliant person and so yep my artistic passion is life :) and making it as colourful and glittery and happy a place I can :)

Do you make a living from your artistic creations?
Nope, but I am at the stage with my writing where I am looking at options for getting pieces published in magazines, I write poetry but I also write short stories and would like to see the stories published.

Do you have professional training in your craft?
I did study creative writing as a part of my English degree and so yes.
But I also sew, kit, draw, engrave and craft and these are all self taught through the wonderful youtube and pinterest.

What drives you to work your craft?
My soul. Not writing hurts. Not creating hurts. Not existing hurts.

Do you believe you are good at what you do?
Hmm interesting question. I am always very surprised at how my work is received. I do think I am good at what I do, I think I could be better and aim to be forever developing my skill.

What is your favorite piece?
I'm not sure I have a single favourite piece. But I am always extremely proud of my 'first pieces' so the first time I write in a new genre, or a new voice or style, the poems that push the boundaries and the ones that cover controversial topics...they are my favourite ones.

What is your greatest joy in writing/art?
As writers we hold so much power, we can be a voice to the unheard...that's my greatest joy, I can shout louder, scream fiercer and I can subtly share my thoughts and sometimes just sometimes, someone needed to hear exactly what i needed to say, and it made them smile, made them know they are not alone.

What is your biggest challenge?
Editing, grammar, punctuation, impatience...I write I post, all in the same millisecond I'm not good at sitting on stuff...I want the world to see it! Interaction, people think I am super good at the interaction side but actually I find that hardest and scariest. Also I have plans, I want to do other projects but i'm scared and I need someone kicking my arse daily.

Do you like to travel? If yes, what is your favorite destination?
I've never really been rich enough to travel and oddly it's not something that burns in my soul. I have been to Italy on a gals holiday :) :) it was very beautiful and the alcohol was delicious :) I did get some amazing photos too though through my hung over state! And they had double decker trains!!!

If yes, what destinations are on your bucket list?
I would however really, really like to visit the great wall of china, I watched a documentary on it recently it gets smaller, people steal the stones to build houses and just normal wear and tear, I really would love to walk it. I also want to see the other side of America, route 66 and the true cultures and traditions and the scary people. And lastly the aurora, the Northern lights, that is something my soul yearns to see.

Have you/would you go skydiving?
No! No! omg No! That is crazy, no way!!!

Do you prefer to ride a roller coaster or merry-go-round?
ha ha ha ha ha ha...merry go round. You can die on roller coasters, they fall apart, or they crash, or the railings break, or the safety bar doesn't work...and ones that go upside down, omg just thinking about it makes me feel scared!!

What is something you wish people knew or understood about you?

hmmm, just because I write it doesn't mean I want it!
I can't do small talk. I am very very shy. I hide my intelligence, dig a little deeper and give me the space and I will enlighten you on a vast range of social topics. I am more than my writing.

Also, lastly, I can't write to demand and I find collaborating to be so scary. I struggle to create a piece of work that has no foundation, motivation or inspiration, everything I write comes direct from my soul I am unable to simply piece together a poem from words.

In the ancient whispers of
our dreams, our soul resides.
Lingering, ready to step forth
and penetrate our deepest
slumber. I dreamed of this
room time and night again.
The wall, a colourful rainbow
of spines, old and new, new
and old. Torn corners, bent
pages, faded covers, creased
titles, dust particles danced
in the flames flicker. The desk,
an array of chaotic energy,
pens, pencils, oh yes, the pencils,
and paper, sheets and scraps
notebooks and journals.
I dreamed of this room time
and night again. The attic
that time forgot, secret nooks
cubby holes, Narnia doors.
A wise man once told me
take heed, the soul resides
within our dream. All I could do
was jump, turn away, create
a new path, hope on a blind
man's sight...

and so it is I find myself here,
now, with ink stained fingers,
a collection of pencils and
scraps of paper covered in
beauty, and so it is I changed
my path, turned toward this light,
I no longer dream of this room,
In again, time or night, for I
heard when my soul whispered
turn now into the light.

There is still time to write on this line prompt "circling into infinity" New one coming tomorrow!

circling into infinity #poetslineprompt

I could fall into oblivion.
Silence my mind with four walls
that block out the world.
I could tumble head first through
the swollen clouds and become lost,
someplace dark,
isolated in the depths of the universe.
Circling into infinity.
Not forever, just for a moment.
A millisecond of infinity travelling
through the illuminating lights of nothing.
The vast eternal skies of emptiness.
I could numb my processors
stop the existence of reality,
be a vulnerable fatality.
I could be a vulnerable fatality.
I could fall into oblivion as I am
engulfed by reason and as
I splinter, crystals shimmering as they scatter,
I could fall into oblivion.
Crumpled beneath the searing heat,
broken beneath the waning moon
vulnerability my fatality make
this my new reality, in a world
lost of rationality,
I could be a vulnerable fatality.

Hello my fellow poets. I started writing in 2014 and my first piece was called celestial collisions. I started writing because I wanted to express what I was feeling Inside. I don't really do social media ,but I do love the thrill of people liking my work. I also love to see what others have to say.
