A great way to be a friend is to ask if someone if they need help. How about offering to open the door for them?

If you’re like me, difficult trials and times of great pain can sway your emotions. When you’re flat on your back in pain, or you are reeling from some great disappointment, you can find yourself floundering to keep your spiritual bearings. Well, if that’s you, I have a few encouragements to keep you on a steady course through the most difficult of times. When I am in affliction, these are the things I like to recall: www.joniandfriends.org/radio/5-minute/thanking-god-affliction/

Thank you Joni.  I have followed your progress since your accident as a young Christian and you have always been an example to me that I have appreciated.  I often find you read the same books and quote my favourite Scriptures.  We are so often on the same page.  I sing Scripture like you do hymns to memorise them and they uplift me every time.

Today is a big day — it’s Radio Recording Day! And on our schedule to record are many Joni and Friends radio programs and 1-minute programs — plus, public service announcements and special interviews, too. It’s going to be a full day for me, but I don’t do it alone. I’ve got a wonderful radio team that helps proofread my scripts and turn pages in the studio — and of course, my sweet husband Ken who cheers me along the way with a big smile. Plus, I have you! Because it’s through your prayers that God provides me with His strength and stamina, His breath and words — words that I pray will encourage radio listeners to lean on Jesus in good times and in bad. So thank you, dear friend, for lifting me up before the throne of Jesus. Not a Radio Day goes by that me and the team don’t “thank God for all you do” (1 Thess. 1:2)!      —Joni

Words fitly spoken are as apples of gold... and it means even more when you put those words in a thoughtful note of encouragement!

Taking the risk of sharing our faith and the Word of God brings hurting friends and loved ones to Jesus.

Something as simple as an uplifting Bible verse written on a sticky note can refresh or encourage a friend, neighbor, or co-worker who needs a blessing.

Boasting in our weaknesses gives us opportunity to die to self, and enjoy a closer fellowship with Jesus.

There are many ways that Bobbie could spend her summers, but for the past 3 years, she's chosen to serve as a volunteer at our camps for families affected by disability. For Bobbie, Family Retreats are like “a little slice of heaven” bringing joy, fun, and fellowship to families worn down by the day-to-day demands of a disability. Would you like join Bobbie and serve as a volunteer? In doing so you, too, will have a glimpse of heaven’s joy!
