I can't wait until Sunday. The first Sharknado movie had it's issues, but I've loved both of the sequels and I'm sure that this one will be no exception. We'll be recording the +Zombie Take-Out review right after the movie airs and the episode will be up by morning.

I saw Ghostbusters last night and it's really good. I'd even go so far as to say that it's on par with the original and I definitely recommend it. Also, like everyone else, I'm in love with Holtzmann. lol

This perfectly sums up my issue with Stranger Things. It's very well-made, but I've seen it many times before and I'm just not nostalgic enough to spend 8 hours revisiting them.
We knew from the outset that Netflix’s supernatural thriller Stranger Things was going to pay a healthy debt to the 80's. Throw a few sci-fi and body horror greats into a blender, add a dose of sobbing Winona Ryder and a dash of kale to make it taste like 2016, and you’ve arrived. It’s a smoothie, but holy hell is it a delicious, artfully created, thoughtful, and addictive smoothie.

I really enjoyed it. While it remixes themes and scenes, the series stands on its own.

I wonder if the remix nature stands out so much for us because our childhood was filled with the references. Was Star Wars, especially the heavily borrowed Death Star run, viewed as "been there, seen that," by an older generation? It felt fresh to me, but I hadn't seen any of the movies it borrowed so heavily from back in the day.

This explains a lot. Tl;dr: Simplistic buzzwords that prey on fear and the desire for security are more effective than logic, reason or facts.
Despite the gibberish, he's a deceptively masterful public speaker

I've been considering cancelling my Netflix account for a while now, but then this happened. I can't wait. :)
It actually happened. The Kickstarter not only resurrected the show, but there was o much support (and cash!) for the beloved puppets-makin’-fun-of-cheesy-movies that Netflix has acquired the new series. But that may not be all.

My first favorite band. Even after 34 years, this album still holds up brilliantly and that's really saying something, given that it came out in the '80s. LOL

on a similar note talking heads was my first favorite. and their first full length 77 is still my go to album of theirs after all these years. i would make my family listen to it over and over as a kid while i sang "pulled up" with a fake microphone. when the reissue came out with their earlier singles added i bought it immediately and it's even better.

Such great news. I had no idea that we were getting new episodes of Black Mirror, so this is a very nice surprise. Between MST3K, Gilmore Girls and now Black Mirror, I'm really glad that I decided not to cancel my Netflix subscription.
Get ready to be home sick from work on October 21, because at 12:01am, they're releasing the first six episodes of Black Mirror's new season on Netflix. And we, for one, gladly welcome the anxiety-inducing, dystopia series back into our lives with open arms. Announced at the streaming service's panel at the 2016 Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, we were gifted with a veritable smorgasbord of information—way more than we already kn...

Ghostbusters is in theaters, MacGyver premieres in the fall and everyone's watching Stranger Things. I think that parachute pants and skinny ties are going to be really popular soon and I can't wait to hear the new Journey album. I just hope that I don't suddenly forget how to play guitar, I didn't start until '85. :P

Stranger Things looks really well made, but it also looks like something I've seen many times already. For those who've watched it, is it just an homage to the '80s or is there more to it?

I watched the first episode and it looks good. I'll probably keep going with it.
