Every high achiever usually has a “turning point” in their life that was a major catalyst for their success.

It could be an epiphany, a mindset shift or even a catastrophic event that forced them to make a change.

What was the major turning point in your life that led you down the path you’re currently on?

There’s an interesting debate about whether it’s more effective to have a “systems mindset” vs a “goals mindset.”

The “systems mindset” says that setting goals is a waste of time because you’ll always feel inadequate until you reach your goals… and that it’s much more effective to focus on the systems and habits in your life that produce desirable results.

The “goals mindset” says that without setting a specific and measurable result you want to achieve, it’s almost impossible to get what you want. (If you don’t know where you want to go, how will you know when you’ve arrived?)

Which belief resonates with you?

Is “Fear Of Success” Holding You Back?

A lot of people refuse to take action on their goals because they’re afraid of the shame and embarrassment they might experience if they fail.

But a large number of people have an even worse fear.

They have a fear that they’ll ultimately become successful, but won’t be able to handle this newfound level of success.

You might think sounds irrational and illogical... but this is actually a very common fear.

Whenever you’re on the cusp of breaking through to a whole new level of success in your life, you’re going to feel some internal resistance.

You might hear that little voice in your head that tells you you’re not worth it.

You might feel like you can’t handle the responsibility that comes with reaching your goals.

The first step in overcoming this fear is recognizing the fact that these thoughts are holding you back. Then, you can reframe them in a more positive light, release the negative emotions you’re feeling, and then retrain your brain for greater success.

This month, millions of people are making a “resolution” to improve their physical health.

But too few of these people are going to do anything to improve their mental and emotional fitness.

You have to understand - your body and mind are linked. And if you only train one, the other will hold you back from performing at a high level in life.

Some people think fear is the #1 thing that holds them back from getting started on their goals. Other people thrive on fear and use it as their greatest motivation.

I understand both sides of this argument.

How does fear manifest in your life? Does it push you around… or does it propel you forward?

Try This Innercise™:

Whenever a negative thought is stealing all your attention and focus, take a few deep breaths.

Breathe in deeply and think positive thoughts.

Then, breathe out all the negative.

Visualize positive energy flowing into your system with each inhale… and negative energy leaving your body with every exhale.

Try this for 60 seconds.

How do you feel?
