The secret is in the number 12.
Breaks generally help productivity, but the details such as what we should do during them, when we should take them, and how long they should last, are key.

Interruptions actually benefit productivity, research finds.

From the first paragraph of the article: "Some interruptions, under the right conditions"
Hardly the typical office interruptions or conditions.

Productivity is Impossible Without Slack (but not the kind of Slack you might assume)
When we don't cut ourselves enough slack, we sabotage our ability to work efficiently.

Everyone seems to want your email address and phone number these days. But giving them out can open you up to risks. Here's how to give some access without giving away too much.

A powerful #economics  lesson from taxi drivers about time management and #productivity
When you're having a truly unproductive day, it may be worth your while to quit and let that day go, rather than force yourself to try and eke something out of it. Here’s some interesting research ...

Great place to buy all kinds of kitchen basics and other non-decorative home goods. Rathna is more about simplicity than design. Controlled prices means no haggling (yay!). Fast service. Make sure to visit all the levels. There are treasures upstairs!

One of Chennai's best new restaurants. Fresh pork katsu steals the show. Booth and sunken table options available. Somewhat typical "Japanese restaurant in a foreign country" menu, but quality is high. Soju available, but no sake.

Easily my favorite place to buy produce. Cash-only shop, good selection, high turnover for items that spoil quickly, such as herbs. Bring your own bags to save a few rupees. Opens early. Good street parking.

Wide variety of fresh fish, cooked to order. Service is overly attentive, which is the norm for Chennai. Atmosphere could be improved, as the open kitchen and fish-on-ice display area is crammed in alongside dining tables. Quality is high; prices are fair.

Lovely decor and inventive seating downstairs. Expect a menu of pastas, sandwiches, and a smattering of other simple fare. Shockingly delicious and strong filter coffee, one of the best I've had in Chennai. Fun place for groups.

Gourmei has a strong selection of staples, such as bread, spices, pulses, sauces, and imported goods. It's not nearly as large as Amma Nanna, but if suffers from one of the same problems: expired goods on the shelves and in the coolers. Check dates closely before you buy, especially for dairy products and items with a long shelf life, such as cereals. Great selection of confectionery and nuts, and the store regularly carries napa cabbage for making kimchi!

Best ice cream in Chennai, inventive flavors, and delicious baked goods to boot. The "underbaked" bar is essentially a blondie, and it's quite good. Brownies and the Twix cake are equally tasty. Portions are large. Sundaes are big enough for two people. On the higher end of the price range for Chennai.
