Hello, Everyone.

My wife, Silvia, and I recently returned from a trip to Florence, Italy. It's been a lifelong goal of mine to visit to this beautiful city with its rich history and vibrant culture. Now I can say "Old Master Inspiration Achievement: UNLOCKED!" :-)

This video gives you a small glimpse at some of the footage we shot during our trip. We didn't want to take our big cameras on this trip so we shot everything on an iPhone 7.

The music is this video is performed by Francesco Bassi. Please visit his website to learn more about him and his music. http://www.francescobassi.org

My wife, Silvia, who is the videographer for most of our videos, is also a writer. Visit her website at: http://www.silviaacevedo.com

Thanks,

There’s so much to learn when you’re slinging paint and pencil, so here’s the fourth installment in my new monthly segment, Muddy Colors: Art Tip of the Month with Jeff Miracola. Each of my short videos will share a handy tip to help you create magnificent art.

My art tip this month is: Painting in Black and White

Working on a painting in black and white requires you to focus on the ever important values in your work without getting distracted by color. In this video I show you a simple setup I use to create a quick black and white oil study.

While I was in Portland, Oregon for a event, fellow artist and friend, Howard Lyon, arranged for us to visit the Gamblin Artist Colors factory to see how the oil paints and mediums we use get made. I wasn't disappointed. The team at Gamblin were incredibly welcoming and accommodating.

I didn't have much notice that we'd be going on this tour, so I wasn't able to make a bigger video production out if it. So this video just gives you a glimpse of what I saw with my phone. Enjoy!

BTW, this video is not sponsored by Gamblin. I do use their products and enjoy them very much, but I was not paid or asked to make this video. They just gave us a tour out of the kindness of their hearts and let us film their processes :-)
