One of my pictures has been published! Although on the cover of a very small local magazine. However, I'm not as excited as I was because they added a caption that's not mine and made it look like it was mine. Kind of annoying, but I'll get over it I'm sure.

Introduction
My 2013 -> 2014 New Year's thing (it's not a resolution) is to try out photography. I've always enjoyed it from afar, but never wanted to learn it. Now that technology has evolved to a point where I feel semi-comfortable trying it, I am. The kicker though is that I don't want to use a DSLR and learn theory and all that -- I just want to take nice pictures of things I see. For that, I am using a Sony DSC-RX100 point-and-shoot and a Nexus 5 (I love photospheres).

The one thing you could call a resolution is to share non-personal photos publicly. I had lots of people circled on G+ but then I was unhappy with how certain things were handled privacy-wise and un-circled pretty much everybody but immediate family and close friends, along with following a few interesting people and pages. Now along with sharing some photos publicly, I'm looking forward to joining some communities and interacting with people that way rather than have to worry about censoring myself and which circles see what posts -- it's just easier that way.
