It was only a matter of time.
In what some might consider a terrifying development, the U.S. military has passed a key milestone in creating self-steering bullets.

Now that the weekly Brush Engine Classes at DAA have successfully concluded, I have collected all of the videos and posted them on YouTube (for those who missed the opportunity to take part in the class while it was ongoing).

The cost of Subscription is $89.99 USD (or similar, converted to your local currency). Please watch this video for more information.

Jason you are my new MAN HERO!!!!! I have been wishing someone would do a video series on the new painter with back bone detail of all of it. I am a struggling new bee in the field of digital painting and felt completely left to self teach and failing miserably, your tutorials remind me of the wonderful training that use to be available back before software exploded (the late 80's)..... THANK YOU THANK YOUI THANK YOU.... Please don't ever stop....

A very short and sweet example video of why Substance Painter (and Substance Designer) is the coolest thing going in 3D texture painting/creation.

The update for Substance Painter 1.1 will be released on 12/16 and it includes some features I have been waiting for to fully adopt Substance Painter as my main 3D texture painting tool.

It is truly amazing what Allegorithmic has been able to accomplish in less than a year with this software... other software companies should feel ashamed because Allegorithmic is not a huge company with deep pockets, but they develop software that is more innovative and at a faster rate than any other company I know of.

Keep up the great work guys!

The Opportunist
Like many of my paintings this painting does have symbolic meaning, but it also has a highly personal meaning as well. The story behind why this painting was done has to do with my wife Heather. She had a job a few years back that she absolutely hated. Howe...

Thank-you both. I am gearing up to make a proper website for myself and I am working on extended text for each painting something like this.

I made 3 new variations on the theme of a flame painting brush -- these will be much easier to use than the flame particle brush that comes with Painter 2015 (but, as a result, somewhat less versatile). Change the Count setti...

The final chapter of the of the CP2015VM project has been released -- this weeks videos covers the rest of the toolbar and wraps up the series. I released these a bit early this week because my Brush Engine Essentials class starts this weekend at Digital Art Academy.

ditto. Thanx Jason, I am going through the videos, will take some time to master the software; time will tell if I will use Painter as an adjunct to Photoshop for custom details or actually eventually try my hand at a unique work. You are a great influence, wish I had a natural talent but after 62 years, have difficulty with drawing a straight line. Either way, this is the first edition ( I've had 7 and 14) I really am impressed with and plan to use in ways other then creating mists and converting PSP files to pngs. cheers, Kathy

Hi Kerry,

I am glad you are finding these videos useful. I am also very much looking forward to the Brush classes on DAA. I see these CP2015VM tutorials as necessary precursors to the Brush classes, however the Painter Brush Engine is by far my favorite subject to teach.

This is a painting that I have been "picking at" on and off for the last several years. In the last few months I have been working hard to complete it in my free time (roughly 15 hours a week). Which is part of an effort to wrap up a backlog of partially finished paintings before starting anything new.

Thank-you all :)

Patience is definitely the main requirement here -- I have at least 600 hours in this thing so far, and am anticipating roughly 200 more to come. I am often shocked at how much time and paint this canvas has sucked up... not to mention how many brushes have been completely worn down to the ferrule.

Gainor, I will contact you directly when I get done -- I don't want to commit to anything until I know for sure I can deliver on a set date.
