I love this video. First the parents fool him by giving him a chopping block, which he fakes being happy about.  Then they give him the tablet he's dying for (looks like a galaxy nexus). How do I teach my kids to be this grateful for the things they have?

wow this is so cool! They mounted HD cameras on the International Space Station and are streaming video along with a map to see where it is. Can't wait to show this to the kids.
If you see "WHERE IS THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION?" above the map and the Google map being cropped at the bottom, this is because you have not accepted cookies at the ESA site. To fix, you have the option of going to their site and accepting the cookies, which option appears at the top of ...

It'd be cool if someday they could put a streetview type camera in some good seats and stream video to an oculus rift type device, so you could watch a game and feel like you are in the stands. Your view of the game would be worse than what you get on TV today (no zoom, only one vantage point), but the overall fan experience might be better.

Google continues to do great things. Wouldn't it be neat if these cars fit perfectly into an implementation of elon's hyperloop idea? Only thing we'd need left is to bore a hyperloop tunnel from sf to Hawaii and life would be perfect! :)

Fully autonomous driving has always been the goal of our project, because we think this could improve road safety and help lots of people who can't drive.

We're now developing prototypes of vehicles that have been designed from the ground up to drive themselves—just push a button and they'll take you where you want to go! We'll use these vehicles to test our software and learn what it will really take to bring this technology into the world.

Is there a way to make my friends stream the default stream shown when I log in?

If the streams had tickboxes instead of radio buttons, the problem would be solved for me.

Parents, stop letting your kids manipulate and boss you around... it's time to take charge! This book can help you, I highly recommend it to parents of young children. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1476739544

this is important.. glad to see the industry raising its voice on the matter

Great to be arguing as an industry for surveillance reform.  It really is time for action and the US needs to lead the way.

This is probably stating the complete obvious, I know.

Just a theory.. "Search, Plus your World" isn't about improving search, it's about getting people to start using Google+ more.

In LinkedIn's early days, I remember a lot of people having profiles but nobody really using it that much. Then over time, Linkedin's Google juice went up and all of a sudden, whenever anyone googled themselves they saw their Linkedin profile.. so of course, out of vanity realizing other people would see their profile now, everyone thought "oh shit i better fill this page out more"

So Google placing Google+ profiles high in default search results is maybe less about helping searchers find the best search result, and more about giving distribution to people's Google+ profiles so people are motivated to finally start using it more.

If so, it's a smart move. Posting this to my Google+ now ;)

update: I just noticed that Google puts a "Update your profile, it's only x% complete" link on the search results page when you google yourself.. To me, this pretty much confirms it. Google is smart.

i wonder if google intends to keep motorola in the long run. Might they be planning to eventually spin it off but keep the patents? That might explain why other Android manufacturers claim to support this deal.

+Emad El-Haraty -- you can click on a person's Google+ profile (like the one here for Sergey http://goo.gl/jVQg5) and there's a "send an email" button. The email is sent from Google+ so I consider it Google+ spam, especially since you don't even need to know the person's email address.
