For this year's annual Transgender Day of Remembrance, which memorializes those individuals we've lost to transphobic violence and hate, why not share your own story about how it's gotten better for yourself or other transgender individuals in your l...

+It Gets Better Project

quotes from Dan savage:

Proclaiming that he sometimes thinks about "f*cking the sh*t out of" Senator Rick Santorum

Calling for Christians at a high school conference to "ignore the bullsh*t in the Bible"

Saying
that "the only thing that stands between my d*ck and Brad Pitt's mouth
is a piece of paper" when expressing his feelings on Pope Benedict's
opposition to gay marriage

Promoting marital infidelity

Saying "Carl Romanelli should be dragged behind a pickup truck until there's nothing left but the rope."

Telling Bill Maher that he wished Republicans "were all f*cking dead"

Telling
Dr. Ben Carson to "suck my d*ck. Name the time and place and I'll bring
my d*ck and a camera crew and you can suck me off and win the
argument."

Using the repair of a statue of Pope John Paul II for a reason to call him a child molester.

Spreading
the flu by infiltrating presidential candidate Gary Bauer's campaign
office, licking door knobs, personal coffee mugs, staplers, keyboards
and phones.

is this what it means by it gets better?

I watched my sister, who is now deceased, cover up and deny who she was for years...That hurt!!  She had a high position within our Govt.,and was asked about her sexual preferences during polygraphs..They have since changed that practice and no longer ask the question, but man, that's outrageous!!
She used to go to Pride in Wash.D.C. before she passed away from cancer a few years ago...But always kept how she felt hidden...I have a big mouth folks, and I will NOT and do NOT keep it closed by any means when I hear the negativity voiced by anyone!!  I don't care who they are..There is a way to get the point across without cursing or being dramatic..
Anyway,in my sisters' memory, and to everyone who is struggling-please keep your head up and walk with pride and self respect..Love and blessings,Sue

Story

The It Gets Better Project works to show LGBT youth the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach.
Introduction

The It Gets Better Project was created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach – if they can just get through their teen years. The It Gets Better Project wants to remind teenagers in the LGBT community that they are not alone — and it WILL get better.

Growing up isn’t easy. Many young people face daily tormenting and bullying, leading them to feel like they have nowhere to turn. This is especially true for LGBT kids and teens, who often hide their sexuality for fear of bullying. Without other openly gay adults and mentors in their lives, they can't imagine what their future may hold. In many instances, gay and lesbian adolescents are taunted — even tortured — simply for being themselves.

While many of these teens couldn’t see a positive future for themselves, we can. The It Gets Better Project was created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach – if they can just get through their teen years. The It Gets Better Project wants to remind teenagers in the LGBT community that they are not alone — and it WILL get better.
