Top 7 Tips to Creating a Stunning Homepage

It can be argued that the homepage of any website is the most important page. It’s the very first impression potential customers will have of you and your brand, and it can turn them away with just one glance. And it’s that importance behind this page that can lead to quite a bit of stress, particularly if you’re not familiar with web design. Not to mention, if you’ve attempted to design your own site already, you’ve probably found that your homepage is one of the more challenging pages to create. Don’t fret — if you follow these simple tips, you can create a stunning homepage in no time. So let’s get to it…

What’s the goal?
The goal with your homepage is to quickly appeal to visitors, then get readers interested in what you have to offer, and almost instantaneously instill a sense of trust in your brand. It has to visually explain what the purpose of your site is, and how you can help anyone who is visiting. Secondly, it should clearly highlight other areas of your site, encouraging visitors to browse beyond the homepage. Finally, your homepage should always encourage visitors to take some sort of action, such as click through to a product page, call you on the phone, or book a reservation from the site itself.

We know, it seems like a lot to ask of one page. But you really can do it with these 7 tips: http://ipage.com/blog/top-7-tips-to-creating-a-stunning-homepage/

Beginner’s Guide to Building a Website, Part II: Where to Get Images and Which to Choose (Without a camera!)

Welcome to Part II of our Beginner’s Guide to Building a Website! If you’re just joining us, be sure to check out Part I before reading on where we walk you through how to choose your template, determine your website’s layout, and choose the best colors for it. Once you’ve got that nailed down, the next biggest challenge for many small business owners is finding professional images and photos to make it shine — especially for those who aren’t photographers or don’t have pictures of their product to put on display.

There’s no doubt that images have become a crucial part of a successful website that people want to explore — aside from being easier on the eyes, photos make a website more relevant and can even increase conversion rates. That said, it’s just as crucial that you’re using the right images. And therein likes the challenge, right? How do you find those images? Is it possible to find them for free? How do you choose the best ones?

Those are the questions we’re answering in Part II of this series. So without further ado, please read on:

Using Facebook Insights: Better Reach, More Likes, Higher Conversions

Last week we discussed how to get more ‘likes’ on Facebook, one of the more challenging social platforms for small business owners to gain traction in. But today, we want to talk about how to use the statistics Facebook provides you to improve your popularity and presence there even more.

With a constantly changing algorithm, succeeding on Facebook is often a challenge for small businesses. We get it — it’s hard enough already trying to reach the people who have already liked your page … trying to reach the ones who haven’t even seen it yet, forget about it! So what’s a business owner to do?

The truth is, Facebook really can be a tremendous resource for businesses and it can be a powerful tool to gain more customers, more exposure, and a positive momentum for your brand — as long as you learn to use it right.
And we’re here to help you do just that.

First, you’ll need to understand what motivates Facebook. Then, you’ll need to understand the statistics it provides so you can measure, test, and ultimately see improvements in your growth and engagement.

Here’s how: http://ipage.com/blog/using-facebook-insights-better-reach-more-likes-higher-conversions/

Best DIY Websites, Part 2: How to Add a Map to Your Contact Page

Maps are now a common feature on many websites. As you’ve probably already seen, the vast majority of maps are dynamic, meaning visitors can change the zoom and move the map around while staying on the website they’re visiting. Oh, how far technology has come from the days of digging the map out from behind your passenger side car seat and tracing your route with a pencil!

But does all of this mean it’s necessary to add a map to your website? And, if the answer to that question is yes, what’s the best way to do it?

Find out the answers, here:

Hey, I see you are still trying to bill my credit card after I have canceled my account with you for about a year now. Every time I contact your billing department; it's a Russian dude speaking in broken English. "Yes, yes. We no charge." And yet you charge. And charge again.

The only way I was able to end my relationship with IPage was to cancel my card I had on file with them. Buyer beware--There are plenty of other quality, American firms out there.
