Palestinians across the region continue to be affected by heavy flooding after the most severe storm in a decade hit #Palestine where some parts of #Hebron are reported to be under a metre of dirty water. We're helping those suffering from the cold with Winter Aid. #Palestine #Refugee (photo shared from www.facebook.com/unrwa)

From +ActionAid  #palestine  "Everyone over the age of 10 has experienced the trauma of armed conflict"

A new blog from the occupied Palestinian Territory by Nicola, Country Director at our office there, about what happens after the celebrations.

"Last week’s flash of hope has given way to cautious optimism, mixed with an experienced portion of apprehension. Political resolutions have been signed before, yet barely changing the temperature of the conflict, nor the situation on the ground. Palestinian State or not, for the women in As Samu’, military occupation is still a fact of life."

There are now close to half a million Syrian #refugees  who've fled the worsening conflict. Interpal is providing emergency relief to Palestinians seeking refuge in #Jordan  & #Lebanon  after fleeing #Syria

Safa has been at Za'atari camp in Jordan with her five children for three months, following the conflict in Syria. With temperatures dropping to freezing, every day is a struggle for her and her children.

"I often need to line up for medicine because all my children get sick from the cold," Safa* says. "We didn't bring many clothes from Syria, only what we were wearing. It’s freezing at night - when my seven-month-old baby wakes up her fingers feel icy."

#Palestinian #refugees often live without basic access to #water #food and housing. The Gaza Strip and refugee camps across the Territories and abroad are experiencing a humanitarian crisis. #Humanrights

10 December is #HumanRights Day, marking the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The #WHOConstitution enshrines the highest attainable standard of health as a fundamental right of every human being. The right to health does not mean the right to be healthy. It means governments must create conditions in which everyone can be as healthy as possible. These include access to timely, acceptable, affordable health care of appropriate quality. The right to health also includes other factors shaping health such as access to safe water, adequate supply of safe food, housing, nutrition.

Humanitarian Relief & Development Aid for Palestinians in Need
Introduction
We are a non-political UK based charity providing humanitarian relief and development aid for Palestinians in need in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank (Palestine), Jordan and Lebanon. Since its inception in 1994, Interpal has, together with its local partners, supported thousands of Palestinians through projects aimed at alleviating poverty.

Interpal has four main areas of activity: Humanitarian Aid (including Water Aid); Medical Assistance; Education; and Community Development.
