We must all experience the highs and lows in the cycle of life. Life is not a straight ride without valleys and mountains. In fact, depression is actually good for you. You cannot enjoy the mountaintop without experiencing the valley. Only by experiencing a cloudy day will you appreciate the sunny days. Depression is only bad if it becomes a permanent way of life.

Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” One day I was counseling with a man who made this statement, “I wish I were like you and I never got depressed.…

Every Christian knows we are supposed to put on the armor of God. All usually put on some, but most do not do a great job of it. Most Christians have some righteousness, some truth, some faith, some prayer, and some use of the Word of God. I believe the part of the armor in which Christians are most lacking is having our feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.

“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace…” (Ephesians 6:15) Every Christian knows we are supposed to put on the armor of God.  All usually put on some, but most do not do a great job of it.  Most Christians have some righteousness,…

We need Preacher's & Teachers that are more concerned with what they are saying and how it can be a help rather than the exact style they're saying it in and how to correctly categorize that preaching style. Just preach & teach God's Word!

It is becoming tougher and tougher to be an Independent Fundamental Baptist preacher in this day and time. At every level, we are under attack, but the attacks are coming from our own Bible colleges. When a college declares war on a certain type of…

Why do I see men in Church who seem like wonderful husbands and fathers in public but go ballistic at home? Why such short tempers? Why these temper tantrums? Why won't they grow up? Why? Why? Why?

“For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” James 1:20 On April 20, 1999, two young men, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, went into their school in Littleton, Colorado, loaded with weapons and opened fire. When they were done, fifteen…

We are not to conform God to man but rather we are to conform man to God.

Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in his own image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the…

In battles and in great movements like this, we have to fight to keep our hearts. As we are attacked and as we face the enemy, if we don't watch, we will keep our heads right but lose our hearts.

One of the largest fallbacks for members of the Church is that of alcohol. Members and their families constantly struggle with what the Bible says about this topic. The Bible speaks of wine in many cases.

Divorce is devastating to those involved. Whether it becomes ugly or is “amiable,” few entered marriage expecting this result. Sayings like, “It is better to have tried at love and failed, than to never have loved at all,” do not help.

As a pastor concerned for divorced people, I’ve heard a lot: “Divorce is worse than death. At least with death the person is gone.” “This is the ultimate form of rejection.” “I feel so dead inside.” “I feel like a complete failure” “I never thought this…

An interview with Dr. Bob Gray Sr. on the relaunching of The Baptist Magazine!

Q: How and when was the Baptist magazine first started. A: For several years in the late 1990’s I sensed the need for a first class magazine for fundamentalism. After counseling with Dr. Jack Hyles, I was even more convinced. In 1998 we published our…
