BUYER BEWARE OF iDRIVE FOR MAC: I purchased iDrive 3 weeks ago for My iMac. After installing the program and using it for a week or so, I felt very comfortable that my data was being protected, until I kept getting a pop-up notice that stated "IT HAS BEEN TWO DAYS SINCE YOUR DATA HAS BEEN BACKED UP." After getting this 2 times, I decided to write in to the techical support department, who told me that after looking at my logs, that my data IS being backed up. I then asked why I keep getting the message that states it is not being backed up. They had NO answer for this and insisted that my data was safe. I continued to recieve the message and called them back this time sending screen shots to them, and they again, pushed my concerns aside that it was not an issue and to ignore the message. I find that answer completely unprofessional. This is clearly a software bug, and it does not give me any comfort to know that my data is safe with iDrive. I decided to cancel the service due to my dissapointment with their support and as a company. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone to cancel, was less than pleasant about this and said he would investigate if I am due a refund and would get back to me. Since I had the program installed over 15 days (it was 17), they decided I was not DUE a refund, despite their poor service, and lack of concern about a customer actually helping them with a problem. I would not use this service again because as a first time problem so early on in the use of it, I was treated like that. I would think twice about using iDrive. I am using BACKBLAZE and have been for years now, iDrive was going to be a second backup. BackBlaze has never been anything but professional and always there to answer each and evry concern. I highly recommend them.
