'Used Paper' Launch – London, UK
When arranging the shipment of works for Robert Ryman’s 1968 exhibition at Konrad Fischer Galerie, Düsseldorf, the gallerist listed the artworks simply as ‘paper’ to minimise any potential import costs. When informed that the import duty on handmade paper was also high, Fischer re-categorised the works as ‘used paper’.
Used Paper is a new contemporary art publisher commissioning multiple and editioned works across a broad range of media, accompanied by commissioned essays. Artists are invited to approach the conception and production of a portfolio as if making a solo or group exhibition, employing images, objects, sound and film/digital works all within the context of a box file.

The 'Consumer' T-shirt by SHOK-1 – London, UK
A 30+ year veteran of painting in the streets and a hardcore gamer since the early 80's, SHOK-1 painted the image inspired by the classic videogame character to create a witty metaphor on our modern consumer culture. The original artwork was spraypainted on a wall in Germany in his unique X-ray style using cutting-edge freehand techniques pioneered by the artist. No stencils or tape were used to achieve the intricate translucent effects.

Lienke Raben – Amsterdam, Netherlands
“The local design scene, as opposed to the advertising scene where I worked before, is less about the big brands and more about the freedom and time to create something awesome. Animators and illustrators that I know really have a passion for what they do and my experience is also that they’re all a little bit weird, in a good way.”
