Spanish level tests certify your knowledge of the language.

Official Spanish level tests are used to obtain the Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE). They are the only official titles certifying the degree of competence and mastery of the Spanish language. The dates for these exams are usually in April, May, July, October and November. The registration period is open for any of the dates. There are many exam centres in Spain (including Malaga) and all over the world. These titles are granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

DELE certificates are valid indefinitely; i.e., they are a personal and professional certification for life. In fact, it is the only Spanish level test internationally recognized by private companies, chambers of commerce and public and private education systems. Furthermore, in the case of university students, they facilitate access to higher education and the obtaining of scholarships and jobs.

The diplomas are divided into six levels of Spanish, from the easiest to the most difficult: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. A1 certifies a basic level of Spanish and C2 certifies full mastery not only of the language but of the Spanish cultural background. In addition, it is necessary to point out that there are different DELE level test exam sessions and they all have the same legal validity.

DELE exams have been designed according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) guidelines drawn up by the Council of Europe, which establish an international objective standard for assessing the level to be attained at each stage of education and in the evaluation of results.

Escuela de Idiomas Nerja is a recognized DELE preparation exam centre. Students learn the technique to pass this type of exam, with a methodology adapted to the target set. During the course, students practise the different language skills such as written and oral comprehension and expression. The School has the appropriate materials for each level, so students will be very well prepared for sitting their DELE level test on the exam day.
