Your new car is smarter than you are. #houstonautoshow
Whether telling you there's a car in your blind spot or parking for you, vehicles can increasingly communicate with drivers and try to intervene to prevent accidents. WiFi not only allows the kids to stream Netflix in the back seat on a road trip, it can make music, maps and information available through the dashboard, rather than connecting to a phone. [...] travelers could access in their cars road-trip itineraries created on computers. Came...

+Cecil Howard HOUSTON CITY MAYOR ELECTION RUN OFF! Prepare to turn out the votes on December 12th 2015!

Very Educational!
WARNING! Some of the content regarding the actions of this particular candidate running for Houston City Mayor (not to mention any names..."Sylvester Turner"), is hard on the ears to digest and not for the faint of heart.
A very scandalous, fraudulent, disgusting and despicable man.

Listen too at your own digression.

In Texas, where truancy is a crime, a court told thist student to drop out of school and get a job so he could pay off his fine for not going to school.
Yet truancy will be a subject hotly debated in the 84th session of the Texas Legislature, with some policy makers more concerned about this age-old topic than border control or tax cuts. Only two states, Texas and Wyoming, prosecute children by sending them to adult criminal court with the charge of "failure to attend." A 17-year-old boy assigned to an alternative school 30 miles from home missed class because he had no transportation. The stu...

A $1 million civil rights lawsuit alleges a school district police officer beat a 16-year-old student with a metal baton.
After an argument in the office, Cesar, then a 16-year-old sophomore, uttered a profanity in the hallway, was arrested and struck 18 times with a metal nightstick by a school police officer, including nine blows while he was on the ground, recorded on school security cameras. The incident - described in a $1 million civil rights lawsuit filed Wednesday - is not the only one in which a Pasadena Independent School District officer used force again...

In France but craving Texas BBQ?

NOT A PROBLEM.
The neighborhood is becoming more fashionable, with art galleries and restaurants displacing the modest shoe stores the area is known for. The most recent restaurant to open on Rue Meslay is called the Beast, and it is the first authentic Texas barbecue joint in Paris. During the same trip, Abramowicz spent a week at the J&R Manufacturing facility in Mesquite where he ordered an all-wood burning Oyler brand barbecue pit and learned how to use i...

Houston native Richard Linklater, whose Boyhood is nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, talks about how this unique movie was born in an interview with our Andrew Dansby.
He says his mother, a professor at Sam Houston State University, occasionally enlisted him for some of her studies at the school. [...] he recalls his fourth-grade class in Huntsville was watched behind a two-way mirror for a research project. [...] since 1991, when he released the influential independent film "Slacker," Linklater has flipped the script and played the part of observer. If the medium of cinema can be likened to a piece of crock...

You may see fewer billboards in Houston soon.
The City Council approved an agreement with former CBS subsidiary Outfront Media last month and may consider another deal with Sign Ad in the coming days that would see the two companies remove dozens of billboards, some voluntarily. The City Council first adopted the much-debated sign code in 1980, governing the location, size and height of billboards and business signs and banning any new billboards. Many of these expired boards remain up, Ci...

Breaking: A bizarre prison bus accident in West Texas has killed at least 10.
PENWELL, Texas (AP) — At least 10 people were killed Wednesday when a bus carrying state prisoners skidded off an icy highway overpass in West Texas, slid down an embankment and collided with a passing train, a county sheriff said. Justice department spokesman Jason Clark said the bus was carrying 12 prisoners and three corrections officers from the Middleton prison in Abilene to the Sanchez prison in El Paso.
