Where would we be without Bluetooth or Wi-Fi? The 3rd in our list of incredible women is none other than inventor and actress Hedy Lemarr. Besides starring in classic 1940’s Hollywood movies, Hedy also helped develop a radio guidance system during World War 2 for Allied forces; it wasn’t adopted until the 1960’s, but the principles of her work are arguably incorporated into today’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology. So, the next time you listen to your playlist in the car, you have Hedy to thank for that!

Which women throughout history have inspired you this #InternationalWomensDay?

Have you seen the film ‘Hidden Figures’? The 2nd in our list of inspirational women we’re celebrating this International Women’s Day, is Katherine Johnson: the real life mind behind the math for many of NASA’s greatest achievements. She calculated the trajectories, launch windows, and emergency back-up return paths for many flights - from Project Mercury, to the 1969 Apollo 11 flight to the Moon.

Is there a woman who’s inspired you? #InternationalWomensDay
