WANTED: People with information on Tinkers' Heart.
Tinkers' Heart is a pattern of quartz stones overlooking Loch Fyne in Argyll. Generations of Scottish Travellers have been using the site for wedding celebrations, but at the moment, it is not a scheduled (= recognised) monument.
Last year, a petition was launched to restore and preserve this monument, and Historic Scotland was asked by the Scottish Government to examine the evidence for the signigicance of Tinkers' Heart to both travellers and locals.
This is where you come in. We are looking for stories, photographs, first-hand accounts and anything else that might help us understand the value that the traveling community and local people ascribe to the monument.
The consultation closes on Friday, so we'd be grateful if you could forward this to anyone who could be interested as soon as possible. http://ow.ly/MQBzp
