Energy saving fact: Try shorter showers. The average shower lasts seven minutes and uses 35 litres of water. But did you know that it only takes two minutes to soak up, wash down, scrub your armpits and still have time to do your hair? Try and save your singing for the rain.
(PS Shorter showers also mean longer lie-ins. Which is almost as good as saving the world?)

Winter tips: did you know you could save on average £55 a year if you fully draught proofed your home? You would also be able to turn down the thermostat as the house would be warmer, knocking another £65 off your annual bill!
You should check the edges of your doors, windows, chimneys and fireplaces, loft hatches and skirting boards for breezes. Just be careful if you are sealing any gaps in a room that needs to be well ventilated, such as a bathroom or a kitchen. Most DIY stores stock a good range of draught proofing equipment so you can either seal these gaps with self-adhesive draught strips, or for your doors – get one of those funny draught excluder's shaped like a snake or a dog.
