When it came time for Hawking to speak, before a group of 70 crowded into Vafa’s living room, he delivered a story not about science, but about a trip he took to Iran in 1962, shortly before he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

A day after attending Stephen Hawking’s talk at Harvard, reporter Peter Reuell received an invitation from Cumrun Vafa — would he be interested in attending a dinner party in Hawking’s honor?

The richest American men live 15 years longer than the poorest men, while the richest American women live 10 years longer than the poorest women, according to the Health Inequality Project.
A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association shows that income is closely correlated with life expectancy, with the richest Americans living as much as 15 years longer than the poorest — and even the poor living longer in wealthy areas.

Husband and wife medical students have embarked on a journey both personal and scientific, one that began five years ago in a mother’s horrifying decline into dementia and death from a rare brain disease, the tracks of which appear in Sonia Vallabh’s DNA.

Husband and wife Eric Minikel and Sonia Vallabh have found a home at the Broad Institute to work toward a treatment for her fatal disease.

In recent decades, women have made progress in pay and parity with men in such professions as medicine and law. But when it comes to running things at the highest levels, it’s generally still a man’s world.

A link between deficits in gut flora and brain inflammation may lead researchers to learn more about its impact on multiple sclerosis.

#multiplesclerosis   #health   #science
Using pre-clinical models for multiple sclerosis and samples from MS patients, a Harvard-affiliated team found evidence that changes in diet and gut flora may influence astrocytes in the brain, and, consequently, neurodegeneration, pointing to potential therapeutic targets.

What about herpes & MS is there a connection? Now that there is a herpes test, have a group of MS people been tested for it?

"I’ve always wanted to connect philosophy to the world, to use philosophy as a way of illuminating and making sense of the debates and dilemmas we confront — in politics and in our everyday lives."

Respond to my questions first, and then let see what is gonna happen next....
Had we a correspondence prior to your comment? No.
2- Do you know me, or do we know each other? No
3- Have you had a chat with me? No
4- I truly don't understand your bizarre behaviour?
5-As well my name is written clearly '' MMaurice Bendou, not Dr. Maurice Bendou...?
6- Your comment is fully meaningless.......
7- Thank you so much for my reply ? I don't see why you are thanking me for, may be for the questions I asked you, and you haven't responded yet??....Are you okay?
8- Happened to some people to thank others for help, service, or anything provided... Is that why you have mentioned '' Thank you south Google.....'' For the maiden mistake ''succeeded'' ? Because, I wrote the comment on the 6 of April, with the word '' succeed''. and when you get involved in thanking me for nothing, on the 17 of April, which is anyway not bad, I found that somebody reshaped it by adding two characters '' e and d '' , so the word becomes ''succeeded'' instead of  ''succeed''. Hummm!! it's getting interesting...'I wonder which Google are you gonna thank next  ? The north '' Thank you north Google......''
**Ending : In fact people like you, who uses social network, to harm other people, and make them said things they have never said, or defaming them etc....And decorating  what you are doing , by some hypocritical  procedures such as here is my e-mail feel free to contact me..I have seen ignorant, but not like you....'' Now may be you can have a tiny clue about my meaning through Mark Twin's quote''..
Regards
Just Maurice Mourad Bendou...Not a Dr.....A simple man....

The U.S. jails 25% of the world’s prisoners, although it contains only 5% of the world’s population. Is there justice in the justice system?
#inequality #justice
America’s prison system houses huge numbers of inmates, many of them serving lengthy mandatory sentences, but research finds little evidence that it produces criminal deterrence.
