I think everything and everyone for the most part was great! Great customer service, great ambience, the views are breathtaking! My only chief complaint is that the food is sub-par, very mediocre at best. My wife and I stayed a full 7 days and tried EVERYTHING on the menu, LITERALLY EVERYTHING! And there wasn't one thing that stood out at all to be honest. So if there is one area they could work on, to be considered an exquisite hotel, that would be to revamp their menu and perhaps hire a better Chef. We probably won't be back or even recommend this hotel based on the foods outrageous prices that are nowhere near the poor food quality.

I have been photographing weddings at the Grove park for 20 years. In the last year The brides that I have been working with, that have gotten married at the Omni Grove Park, have all raved about Eirn Pangerl. She goes above and beyond. Nice Job hiring her! she is really GOOD. Audrey Goforth

World class experience. My wife and I usually just get day passes to the spa as the massage therapists there are overworked and overpriced. Are you really going to pay $250 for a massage that you can get in town for $75? Your best value is to get day passes for $90 a piece and use the hot waterfalls, mineral pools, heated figure 8 pool, polar pluge, and aroma therapy saunas all day. You can even order food from the outside area. Avoid peak times if you are looking for value. We usually wait until this hotel is around $300 per night. Haven't been back since Omni took over. Hope the prices are still competitive. The Biltmore Hotel is also a good option, but we prefer the Grove Park. A+ experience.

The Sunset Terrace is a must if you are in Asheville, and of course sunset is the ideal time to go. The view of the Blue Ridge mountains and the beautiful wooded valley are breathtaking. Pair that with fantastic food, great friendly service, and delicious cocktails and desserts and it is well worth a splurge. Yes it's pricey but firmly in the category of worth it. We dressed up but it is a resort where people are relaxed and more casual attire is acceptable. (Also posted this review on Open Table)

If you manage to snag a rocking chair in front of their enormous fireplace you will be the happiest person in the world. Grove Park is best enjoyed in winter, partly for this reason. Gosh it's homely. Yet magnificent. Their gingerbread display in December is a Must for children and adults alike. And if you are in the mood for something slightly different in the evening, the piano bar can be a lot of fun.

Imagine having guests in your home in Black Mountain, North Carolina from Atlanta, Georgia over the Thanksgiving holiday. Now imagine trying to show your guests a little bit of the flavor of Asheville and its famous GPI and the Gingerbread House display. Now imagine being turned away because neither you nor your company were PAYING guests of the Grove Park Inn. Now imagine that you no longer will recommend to any of your local friends or visiting friends from outside the Asheville area to participate or support any of the activities that the now Omni Grove Park Inn offers. Omni Grove Park Inn, we were really disappointed in how we were treated on Friday, November 28th. Merle Arcand Resident of Black Mountain, NC

What incredible service and I haven't even had dinner yet! I have been calling this past week to the Sunset Terrace attempting to find an opening on a Friday night that wasn't at 5:15pm or 9pm. The hostesses were very kind and would always take down my name and number and said they would call if anything opened up. I called again today, the day of, defeated and had come to terms with the fact that most likely I wasn't going to get the time I had requested and was prepared to eat either early or late. When I called into reservations I had a wonderful encounter with a woman named Lisa. Not only was she quick, courteous and knowledgeable, she took down my number and promised to get in touch with the host stand at the Terrace as soon as they opened for lunch. Man, did she deliver! I got a phone call shortly after the Terrace had opened and not only had Lisa been an advocate for me, but one of the hostess Ana had heard that it was a special occasion (Navy Homecoming) and wanted to help. These two ladies went above and beyond to find me a reservation for two. I was surprised at how accommodating the were as well as how much they wanted to see me happy. This was impeccable service from the front of house! I am beyond thankful to these two ladies, they absolutely deserve a raise, a cookie, and a hug from somebody famous. Can't wait to see how our dinner goes. Very excited! Thank you GPI!

The Grove Park Inn is spectacular. The views, food and facilities are amazing. I was part of a wedding here and when it came to the ceremony and reception, everything was like a well-oiled machine. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. I did find it disappointing that when we were shown to our room to get ready for the event, there was nothing set up for the bride and her bridesmaids, ie: complimentary cheese/fruit or champagne. With the amount of money spent it seemed like that would have been something that would have been thought of, instead of us all having to buy $15 glasses before the wedding. After all the festivities, we proceeded to go to Elaine's, the dueling piano bar, which was a blast. The piano players are super talented and it's got a great vibe. All in all, a great experience.
