December 1st is World Aids Day and I am thinking about a person who supported my art with a passion that carried me through many years. He moved to Venice California in the early 1990's where there was a more comprehensive healthcare support system.
Rick Barnett - the former director of Hal Bromm Gallery along with Hal Bromm gave me a place to exhibit and valued "change" when the work dictated it.
I miss him terribly - he did not care about your art pedigree, background, contacts, etc. it was all about the work. He loved art, artists, and beauty above all - an authentic aesthete.
