It’s hard to make last-minute hotel and restaurant reservations in your price range, in the right neighborhood and with the right flair. But now, you can just ask a quick question on your phone—tap the mic on your Android and say “show me some restaurants in downtown Austin.” You’ll see your options and you can swipe to see more, or tap the button to “see all.” If you need a way to make sense of the many options, tap the new filter tool to help you narrow it down by price, ratings, cuisine, and even whether it’s open now. (This works only in the U.S. for now, but stay tuned!) Found the one? Just say “OK Google, call 219 West” and you’re good to go.

+Stas Nurko In Europe you will have the possibility to chat directly with the owner of the hotel and bargain the price ;-)

Slightly more superhuman all the time. Thank you Google!

Humm, 4:46, why not 4:43? Interesting ...

Booo! I hate the US only things! Why can't you release the function everywhere? I know all the hotels and so on must be added but why can't you let US do that?

Theyre clearly teasing the new whatsapp integration in google now! Jk :D

I like the update, but this is exactly what you took away from the old google maps.  I loved it and used it a ton, then you took it away... now its back, but not in google maps, but in google now?  why not google maps? who knows

How about scraping the menu and offering a discount if you use your Google Wallet Hmmm...? This way you could capture an interest, intent and translate this to ROI. It might also allow you to identify a pattern of activity across a segment based on social connections or demographic attributes. Based on a search for cuisine type preference, you could also identify other recommendations and incentive those as well +Google?

why can't I select multiple types of Cuisines? I wanted to select American, Barbecue or Italian to see my options but I can only select one.

People who hate the US first availability should either start their own multinational technology conglomerate, move to the seat of tech innovation, or WAIT VERY PATIENTLY WITHOUT MAKING SO MUCH AS A PEEP!

+Google How can a restaurant or a hotel be listed? Are those which are listed AdWords clients? This seems to be as well the question of +Brian Hensley

Personally, I think Google needs a new type of exchange model for location/places around local which can be combined Zagat ratings, user survey and incentive delivery. What might also be very cool is the ability to understand anonymous cohort activity at these locations to understand how many current people are in, at or nearby these locations. Google could probably pull this off, based on tracking Gmail/Google plus behaviors by pulling GPS data from normal user activity. Most of this would roll into a reverse HUFF model to understand area, density of people in area, pattern of visit, weather etc... [My thoughts] from this they could create markets. +Google

Pretty good, just tried it. Please: allow multiple cuisine choices, allow sorting results by stars and proximity.

Portate qualche funzione anche su Google Now in Italia, per favore!

Ummmm... Doesn't work. Following those instructions, I don't get that screen. In California, on a 2013 Nexus 7 running 4.4.2 and the latest version of Maps.

People....stop whining about it not working outside the U.S. This is nothing new for Google to test new things domestically before rolling out worldwide. It's not like they weren't up front about it.

For me this didn't work for my city, so I assume it only works for a handful of major cities. Odd it isn't working for Los Angeles though.

Even the exact search "show me restaurants in downtown Austin" doesn't trigger this outside the US.
