Let's remember that Google's zeitgeist is a compilation of those items that were searched across Google's Search and You Tube properties... not meant to illustrate position or significance... just meant to illustrate what captured our attention... as shallow as that may seem at times... it says something about us.
There's still hope. The world holds many positive outcomes yet, it's up to US to make it so. People, not governments, political parties or world leaders hold the reigns. this is where my faith resides. Make your mark and pay it forward.
Very disappointing! Look at the one from 2011, which is way better, longer and more emotional. There is no way that the release of GTA V is one of the biggest moments of the year guys! Sorry, but I was expecting more..
It sucks! It looks like 2013 was the worst and the most boring year ever. What about the Bazil's protest, man? Where are they? And "royal baby" and "pope francis" at the start oh, it seems it was such a cool year for the Midle Ages. ¬¬
What thrills me most about Pope Francis is that people are no longer afraid to acknowledge that Catholics (or any religion, for that matter) exist. While I continue to agree with what previous popes had to say on social matters, I think Pope Francis has translated these teachings into the context of the 21st century by making them more relevant and accessible to those to whom they apply. And instead of building up a wall between those whose actions the Church condemns, he has displayed nothing but love and tolerance to them. He truly merits his place in #Zeitgeist2013.
+Mario Lemes Not just the Brazil protests. Actually,I believe this year's Google Zeitgeist should have protests done in 2013 (Brazil,Turkey, etc). But don't forget that it's not a channel owned by a random person (famous or not). It's Google's channel.Did you expect to see protests in a big company's channel?Don't forget that governments across the world don't want people to fight for their rights and big companies support them.Don't you find it weird that in the South European countries people have stopped to protest?
Such a dissapointing fact that google pretend that 2013 was broing year. Like, come on, there is much to cover in this year! Like android reached 1 billion activations, kitkat, moto x, twerking, youtube with g+ comments, etc!
Much love for you #google, i guess you made the world appear more intersting than it seems despite it's cruelty , but concerning youtube i think everybody will agree on reacting a little on it.. #google_services
Admittedly, a list of events from which you took these excerpts would be appreciated, so those of us not familiar with everything we're seeing could do research to better educate ourselves on what we've missed.

a single person can lead to a revolution, a few words can inspire hope where there is none, and the actions of a few can change the world for a for the better. it is not about how short or how long a video is, it is about the message that it is trying to convey.
